It's not a troll. A State fan clearly said that Croom punted on 4th down against Maine to end the game, when that is obviously false.
It makes for a good story though. Almost as good as falling asleep on a coach during a recruiting visit.

Instead you just read the part you wanted to. When I said "the end of the game" or whatever, I didn't mean the actual last play.

You said he punted to end the game. That's not reading only what I wanted to. Nobody in the world would take that to mean that it wasn't the last time State had the ball.

Actually it was the lack of success of a former MSU coach that has caused the reaction.
Be aware that the decade before that same coach, and so far after that coach, was way more successful and had our program being built up. It's the old 'one step forward two steps back" saying. Croom was the two steps back.
