Also this is an anonymous internet board, used for poking some fun at your rival. I enjoy it, otherwise I would not do it. I am not here for you.
Absolutely...nor are we here for you. When we make fun of you while we converse with each other, we're doing it to poke fun at you. If you happen to get your panties in a wad about it, well, it's not worth the time to even think about.
ETA: the only one that I disagree with on a consistent basis is an Auburn fan, Pig. But that is life.

I see a lot of that from fans from both sides. You could easily swap out many Bama posters names.
Well, that's certainly true.

This is what I don't understand about the Updyke mentality. Saban had turned the club around in 08 with 12 wins and undefeated in 09. This was not enough? I see this all the time here, other blogs and occasional in comments in national print from all fanbases. The celebrating of one's team being less important than the denigration of another. It's a pettiness that I don't think is cultural nor generational (Updyke is older than I am). Just hard to figure.
In many Alabama fans' minds, Auburn was NEVER supposed to win a national chmpionship again. Ever. Many of them could not come to grips with what happened in 2010.
Updyke's formative years were during the Bryant era and I daresay fans from that timeframe have had a harder time understanding 2010.

How would you know this? I doubt that you know 10% of all the Bama fans personally, and have no idea how they feel about this. It just helps give Auburn fans something to whine about if they can blame the entire fan base of their rival instead of the one idiot that did it. I can only speak for myself, but I would not have cared if they strung the guy up from one of those trees. I just don't believe in messing with someone's property, and I include pranks in on that. I believe in leaving your stuff alone, and I expect the same from you. I don't think the silly pranks pulled by Auburn fans to our statues and grass justify what Updyke did, but I'd prefer that they would leave them alone.
I don't know many in the Alabama fanbase, however I did witness hordes of them hamming it up for pictures before the 2011 Iron Bowl. All of them thought it was a big joke.

I was at the Camback and the fans in attendance could not believe that Auburn won that game after their total domination in the first half. Updyke could not handle it.

What HU did was wrong no doubt but he aided in getting done what needed to be done years ago. The trees were already dead and been almost dead for years before he poisoned them. Auburn was in denial about it. It's like having an old blind, cripple dog with bad kidneys and heart but you just can't bring yourself to take him to the vet and have him put to sleep because you love him so much. Harvey put the trees to sleep for the barners but it wasn't his place to do it. Either way the trees needed to go!
My guess is you are trolling, but probably ignorant. Either way, frick off.

First off Piggyphish, don't assume to know me enough that I somehow miss the point of the trees. I've rolled them many times with friends who were attending Au while I was at Bama, most likely before you. Rolled them when Au won the first Iron Bowl there with my friends, did to honor a bet and a very good friend was on the Au team at the time. I have plenty of found memories in Au, toomers corner and etc. For the good people I know I am sympathetic but for the attention seekers on these sites wanting to martyrdom themselves over the trees- get a grip on yourselves.
My point was/is for the self loathing Au fans acting like their first born was taken from them to early and that the tradition is gone is just wrong, it's not gone, just temporarily moved. Plus, the tradition was started by rolling the wires on the intersection and it wasn't until the 80's that the trees got rolled. Traditions change over time and unfortunately by the act of the shite head , this Au tradition will change to an extent. But's it's not over.
I'll step out of this thread out of respect for those sensitive to critical thinking over the trees. Hope for a good day for you@
Yeah the yawl's thing is a auto typo correct deal, wtf?

One last one for old times sake...
TRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZ!
Real talk, I hate it for everyone that cherished the tree rolling. I hope the Toomers Corner replacement comes out nice.

I don't assume to know you at all. Trying to understand why you're chiming in about somethign you admittedly don't understand.

There is a reason why this is one of the most intense rivalries in the nation.

No, I read the article. I am sure it will be a slam job against Auburn. Put on your tin hats: Why are they running it the same day the trees came down? Which announced first?
They should have waited till tomorrow to chop them down so they could deflect

In my other thread some Missouri fan says their rivalry with another Big 12 team is worse.
