Tony Clayton-linked support was ~12% of Judge Jorden’s wife’s campaign.

I went down a rabbit hole on the Baton Rouge NCAA eligibility case and found something I haven’t seen reported.

I’m not alleging bribery, corruption or that campaign contributions caused Judge William Jorden’s ruling.

But this relationship is a lot deeper and more recent than I realized.

Tony Clayton gave $1,000 directly to William Jorden’s 2020 judicial campaign.

Then when Jorden’s wife Brittany ran for Baton Rouge City Court, Clayton publicly endorsed her.

Her campaign filings show:

A.M. Clayton Attorney at Law — $5,000

Antonio M. Clayton — $4,000

The Law Office of Tony Clayton — $2,236.52

Total: $11,236.52

Brittany Jorden’s campaign reported about $93,725 in total contributions and in-kind support.

So Tony Clayton/personal/law-office entries accounted for roughly 12% of everything her campaign reported receiving.

Clayton’s son Brilliant gave another $1,500.

Including Brilliant, the Clayton family/law-practice total was $12,736.52, or about 13.6%.

But here’s the part that really caught my attention:

September 11, 2025.

At that time Tony Clayton’s wife, Paula Clayton, was serving as the pro tempore/ad hoc Division A judge on Baton Rouge City Court.

Brittany Jorden was the Division C judge on that same five-division court.

They were sitting on the same court.

And on September 11 alone, Brittany’s campaign reported:

$2,500 — Antonio M. Clayton

$2,500 — A.M. Clayton Attorney at Law

$650 in-kind — The Law Office of Tony Clayton

The $650 was described in the filing as “Refreshments for Debt retirement.”

That’s $5,650 in Clayton-linked campaign support reported on one day while Clayton’s wife and Jorden’s wife were judicial colleagues.

Less than a year later, Tony Clayton is representing the players in the NCAA eligibility case and asking Brittany Jorden’s husband, Judge William Jorden, for emergency relief.

Jorden grants the relief.

And the orders ultimately go far beyond just temporarily stopping one eligibility rule.

Again, none of this proves anything improper happened.

But this wasn’t just some stale $1,000 donation from six years ago.

Clayton had endorsed Jorden’s wife, Clayton-linked entries made up roughly 12% of her reported campaign support, his son contributed too, his wife was serving alongside Brittany Jorden on the same court, and $5,650 in Clayton-linked support came during that overlap.

Then less than a year later Clayton was asking Brittany’s husband for extraordinary emergency relief for his clients.

The question I’d like answered is pretty simple:

Was any of this disclosed to the NCAA or SEC before Judge Jorden ruled on Clayton’s requests?

If somebody has the hearing transcripts or minute entries showing that it was disclosed, I’d like to see them.
