What part of Atlanta do you go alone after dark? Buckhead, Downtown ?

Do you not understand that the large majority of Buckhead is pretty quiet residential streets?

Even most of the commercial areas aren't "no-go" zones. Actually even the worst areas in Buckhead - the malls and Pharr and whatever - aren't like that. I wouldn't want my wife go alone at night, but if for some reason she had to it's not that big a deal.

Not George but I go to Buckhead and Downtown and Midtown all after dark. Not usually alone but with my wife or wife and kids.

I am sure everything has a risk, but the last 5 years has proven that things are out of control. I remember going to the Fox Theater at night and feeling totally safe. Not sure I would now with the way Atlanta Police are now. Anything north of 285 on GA 400 was always considered safe, don't know if that is still true from what I hear. We are reading in Alabama about the attacks on a proposed planned police and fire training center in Atlanta. I thought it was about tree huggers before I read up on it. Wow, the citizens over there hate the police. Or they allow people to hate the police.

Buckhead, Inman Park, Highlands?

We literally walk to dinner and back almost every Friday night when weather is nice in spring and summer and live a whole 1.5 miles from the city line. Whole family. In the dark. Stroller and kids running around us and all.

As long at the law-abiding citizens gather in masses, that is fine. When a stray leaves the herd, look out. The criminals in that area do night fear the police, I am sure they fear a private citizen with a gun. Trouble is, GA will restrict the 2nd Amendment rights if those liberals continue to gain power. Like I said, Alabama, Tennessee, SC and FL will have to build a wall.

Reality is what liberals call paranoia, until it affects them.

It's like a group of 10 Antifa freaks living in the forest where they're trying to build it who threw a Molotov cocktail. Nobody in Atlanta would know about it but for the news reports, it's not around anyone.

it's not pitched street battles like in Portland

Lol you actually think UGA was a good school before HOPE?

This is the hilarious part. UGA fans think their admission standards are high because it's some great school. It's because it's the only "big school" experience in Georgia and you can get it for free.

Go to school for free or spend $100k+ hmmm, tough choice

Not an issue in Birmingham. Unless I drove around Legion Field at night.

Many Auburn grads think of Atlanta as Zanadu, which it is, especially if you’re from Alabama.

No, Atlanta was the only place for a career for some of the tech grads. Now Huntsville is leaving Atlanta in the dust from that standpoint. Difference is Huntsville Tech giants don't want UGA grads.

Yeah, Huntsville, Alabama > Atlanta, Georgia.

Then why did Pickens get into UGA and not Auburn?

So you think George Pickens was turned away from Auburn due to academics???
That's precious.

Uh, no. Kids from Georgia have to resort to schools like Auburn when they cannot get into UGA. I personally know of many. Auburn University and Auburn fans were all about Pickens until he changed his mind and wanted to play on a championship team. I know it burns.
