Called him best guard prospect he ever evaluated.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he falls. But it is impressive.

I assume he started the list after Tyler Bray, Justin Hunter, and Cordoralle Patterson.

So really he ranked Chance at number 5. May want to revise the thread title.

Todd McShay sucks. And this statement by me has nothing to do with your OP. I've always thought that.

I agree. Nobody will take a guard #2. He had Mingo #4.

And Lacy top 10.

No, he had 10 names on the board and was choosing his top 5. Lacy, Kniles Davis, Lattimore, and a couple other guys were up there. Barkley was his #1.

Todd McShay just talked to an NFL scout who thinks Chance Warmack has the potential to be a top selection

FIFY

McShay doesn't do a damn thing but talk to his "connections" about kids and NFL team needs. Kiper is better because Kiper has more connections, but both of them don't truly know any more than any of us about football. They just know people.

though. Hope the kid does well for himself.

If it was from SportsCenter this morning I know he had John Jenkins at 5.

A 3-Star that wasn't heavily recruited.

Not so sure about that.

Kiper has more connections,

True, but a healthy percentage of those connections don't like Mel. He is, supposedly, a really nice guy, but he slams picks at times as if the GM and/or coach were crazy for making that choice. It makes for entertaining TV, but it also pisses off coaches to be talked about in that manner one minute and then called and asked for info the next.

McShay played QB in college and also served as an asst coach in college before moving on to work for a scouting company. He's been around the game his entire life. He knows more Xs & Ox than Mel does. Mel has more connections than Todd does. McShay doesn't really piss his connections off, though. There is a reason ESPN is giving McShay so much air time. He'll be "the guy" at some point in the next few years (my guess is right after ESPN doesn't give in to Kiper's demands after the next negotiation).
