How the hell is getting your ankle rolled up by a defender falling on you awkwardly = injury prone.

Compared to Mason/Hill, my statement is 100% factual.

Actually it is 100% NOT factual. Mason had an ankle injury and Gurley had an ankle injury. If Gurley is injury prone because of one ankle injury, then I would think Mason is injury prone because of one ankle injury, too.

He never missed a practice. Not immediately after the injury, not when the team's medical staff decided to limit his work and not even when he could be seen favoring the ankle in warmups at practice.

Also, again, Gurley missed game-time with an injury to his other ankle.

But at this point, I think most UGA players have a higher than average risk of injury. Something needs to be done this off-season with S&C.

I think it's amazing that an injury-prone gimp like Todd Gurley could still outplay someone as awesome as Tre Mason in every stat that includes the word "per".

Yes, seriously. The real world doesn't care about Hill punching a racist as much as SECRantards do.

Im never accused of being a leghumper fan...but Todd Gurley had my Heisman vote this past season. He was the best rb in the country...period. He shed tackles like my Golden retriever sheds hair, regardless of how solid the attempted tackle was, he would burst out of the grasp.

He is UGAs best hope for a decent season...cause they would be mediocre without him. BTW ankles are a common ailment for wrs, rbs and qbs...they get tackled as they accelerate away from tacklers and usually lower leg/ankle is grabbed and some body weight is added.

I never stated they care as much about it. But the fact is, former assault charges usually negatively impact NFL evaluations.

He used some racial slurs when he was berating Hill.

BOOOOOOM

Padawgjr compiled these stats for 2013... Tre vs Todd.

quote:

Gurley had 7.1 Yards per touch and that is better than Mason's 6.9. Mason played 14 games TG3 played in 10. When you look at the numbers...

Gurley: Total Yards (1,430) / (202) Total Touches = 7.1 Per Touch

Mason: Total Yards (2,374) / (344) Total Touches = 6.9 Per Touch

***Mason also had 396 Kick Return Yards*** and 15 KR touches factored into these numbers, so if you take out KR Yds (Gurley had none) you get this...

Mason: 2374 - 396 = 1,978 and 329 Touches without KR's.
Mason Corrected: Total Yds (1,978) / (329) Total Touches = 6.03
Mason now has 6.03 Yards per touch and Gurley still has 7.1

Some are more prone to ankle issues than others. It's not a slight towards him talent-wise because he is hands down the most talented back in the SEC.

No no. I didn't take you as slighting him. I'm just not sure i would consider him injury prone based on one season coming after an injury free season.

As for Tre Mason? I think he will have a long and productive career in the NFL. You guys had a great run. While I will take the occasional dig at you for not winning the last game, I was pulling for you and wish you had pulled it off.

Somewhat related, are there going to be any changes to UGA's strength and conditioning this off-season? Flexibility issues are largely related to conditioning.

I think there are some changes coming. I think one guy is already gone, and some are calling for the dismissal of the head S&C coach. So, yes...there will be changes, but I am not sure how deeply they will go, or if they will be enough. Conditioning always seems to be an issue with most teams, but depth tends to hide to what extent.

I like this game.

Jeremy Hill had 7.2 Yards per touch

Kenyan Drake had 8 Yards per touch

Derrick Henry had 12.3 Yards per touch

What other stats can we use to inflate one guy over another?
