No one in their right mind but we'd be ignorant to say they couldn't compete with this field. Personally, I think LSU could handle Clemson. But it's all about the matchups I guess.
I think though you're arguing that PSU should have gotten in. Maybe they were deserving. I guess we'll find out how deserving in the Hindsight Bowl against USC.

Crybabies whiners sniff sniff. We didn't have a playoff forever and people whined. Now we have a 4 team playoff and the #5, #6 thru #10 whine that we need more teams lol.

The LSU team that played yesterday would probably beat Washington and possibly OSU. Our offense would still lose to Bama and Clemson though. Regardless, nobody can make serious case that LSU should have been in any playoff after the season we had. Etling ain't gonna cut it if we are going to make the playoffs next season.
