Harsin would be a fool to walk away with a settlement less than $12 million. He needs to be set for life on AU's dollar if they don't have solid evidence of his wrong-doing. And I don't mean a dozen ex-players saying he was mean and culturally insensitive type shite.

This is probably getting into semantics, but Auburn would be the one claiming breach of contract by firing Harsin for cause in an attempt to not pay him his full buyout.
Regardless, if/when he is fired, there will be a negotiated settlement of the buy out amount.

That depends if Auburn decides to fire for cause. Harsin will claim it one way or another.
Auburn will claim if they fire for cause.
However remote, there is a chance Auburn lets him go without a for cause finding. But everyone knows the University lawyers will try and allege his behavior violated the contract and thus fire for cause. Settlement of course, will then pursue. Agree
