It wasn't that long ago we won a national championship by 60 points. Not sure the number of teams has any bearing on the competitiveness overall.

But since when are postseason games guaranteed to be close? The average score of a CFP game from the four-team era was 40-21. The average BCS Championship: 33-18. What, are we gonna redesign the NFL playoffs if the NFC South champ looks crappy?

All of this.

But mostly, frick Bama, frick Aggy and frick Ole Miss too.

Dixieland Delightful IMHO

With apologies to Miss Terry.

All the auto bids did was eliminate better teams and include worse teams. If they dropped the auto bids, 12 is probably perfect.

Don't finish third in your conference and then whine.

No I’m just stating that you’re an idiot for still going on and on about Bama being in the playoffs. Don’t lose to terrible teams.

The entire point is Alabama doesn't belong you stupid frick, but by the shitty standard being presented here they do.

But when Ohio St loses to a 6-6 Michigan team the last game of the season that team for sure deserves it.

In any given season there are only 4-5 teams that are legit national championship caliber, so 8 teams in allows for the odd year when there are more than 4 that have a shot to win it all.

This. However you feel about the Noles, last year was complete bullshite for them. An 8-team would’ve solved that.

An 8-team also would allow for a very legit 10-2 team like Ohio State have a shot.

I mean, if Bama had beaten OU they would’ve been in this year, and I don’t think anyone would’ve had a problem with that.

But a 9-3 team? Meh. That’s why I like 8. But since we’re way past that now, just give automatic bids to the conf winners and seed based on rankings.

In fact, it was probably the biggest sigh of relief from the rest of college football, especially Georgia, when Alabama didn't get in.

No disrespect to Bama (who I do respect), but I don’t think anyone feared Bama in the playoffs this year. Not this Bama.

And Texas beat the good Bama last year in Tuscaloosa, so I would’ve really liked our chances in Austin.

I am looking forward to seeing how Bama does vs Michigan. I’ve been told all season that Michigan is horrible so I’m looking forward to seeing a Bama blowout.

All good. It’s a pay site or I would’ve posted the link. Decent writers but not sure if I’ll renew sub.

Texas was clearly the better team in the rematch, outcome be damned.

More delusional Texas fans being delusional Texas fans, folks.

Everyone fears Alabama just because of the talent and what is possible. Consistency has been the issue this year really.

They are basically like a box of chocolates this year, you never know what you are going to get. Alabama does have 3 ranked wins and has shown it can beat top teams. It also showed it can very easily shite the bed.

But really the point is not that Alabama belongs, it's that they don't but still meet the qualifications as a team that could win it.

Flip a coin with the Alabama/Michigan game. Hopefully Milroe doesn't have bitch knees.

Understood and agree. Bama is a “circle it on your calendar” game regardless of records, simply because it’s Bama and like you said will always have talent. Like I said much respect.

And “box of chocolates” is how I’d describe Texas offense. Looks unstoppable and then completely befuddled from drive to drive sometimes.
