To me, the most intriguing West battle is Auburn and LSU.

Auburn seems to be developing a decent defense, and if they have a consistent offense, it could be a great year for them.

LSU is really trying to develop an offense that will give them a better shot than in recent years. We know they will have a great defense.

These two teams are the only real threat to Alabama in the West imo. Auburn hasn't been able to win in Death Valley for a long time, but with LSUs offense changing directions, and Auburns defense making strides, this could be the year.

This game will be the best game of the year for me. Thoughts?

Will be an insane atmosphere. I expect the LSU defense to thrive.

LSU's weak QB, Danny Etling, in last weekends scrimmage against LSU's elite first-team defense was 13 - 22 with three touchdowns. Man...if LSU had a good quarterback like Jarrett Stidham, they'd be really scary.

It don't matter which of them wins. We will beat both of them like a drum. I admit that might be the only game I watch where Bama aint playing. When I watch I will pull for LSU to win cause Auburn is Auburn. And they got no class.

I am fascinated to see what happens this year. Canada's offense could be the missing sauce and LSU's offense roars back to life. Or it could blow up because of OL depth issues and questions about Etling at QB. On the other side of things, Stidham could finally bring stability to AU's QB situation and give us ability to hit teams deep again. Or he could bust/get hurt and AU is back to where they were last 2 seasons. Or maybe the defense takes a step backward with out Adams/Lawson and AU is left trying to win shootouts again.

I could see any number of things happening for either teams. Both have recruited at a consistently high level for years now but have struggled to get all the pieces together at same time. I expect it to be an awesome atmosphere and a great game. Not sure yet who to pick until I see both teams play some games. I am hoping both enter undefeated and it ends up the game of the week. AU/LSU has always been one of my favorite games. Weird shite seems to happen and I love it

I honestly love LSU fan confidence. We beat you without scoring a touchdown last year, your all-time coach is gone, you're installing a new scheme on a sputtering offense all the while Auburn is essentially the same team with a QB upgrade... but we're fricked.

You beat a Les Miles led football team at home at the last second.

Stidham will piss himself and LSU will win.

No, technically you lost at the last second. We were already beating you.

Also, Les Miles is the best thing (save Nick Saban) that's ever happened to LSU.
