A month left against the actually good teams.
Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss? That was doable considering our 2014 team wasn't as good as our final position in the rankings might indicate. Ole Miss was also beatable as they have beaten them on numerous occasions over the years. The final score in that Alabama game was 25-20 and we were having a hard time stopping that offense late as our defense was getting tired because the offense couldn't move the ball like they were earlier in the game.
Those last three were very winnable games and the SEC East's champion - Missouri - was not going to beat anyone who came out of the SEC West, Mississippi State included.

They had 4 5*'s in 2016. Bama had 17
We also had Jalen as a QB, so subtract at least 10 stars.

Not saying we were a shoe in but if we beat OM that year we are in the playoffs. You can't really get much closer than that other than actually making the playoffs.

Limiting scholarships to 70 (3 deep plus four bonus spots) instead of 85 would spread the talent around better so the usual suspects can't hoard it all on their bench. Obviously that would suck for UGA but I think it would be better for the sport. It spreads talent better than this half assed free agency system we have now.

Are you seriously comparing Whichita State to a team in a power 5 conference in D1
Wichita with Lasso could have competed with anyone had their schedule allowed it
