Never seen this before

It's a blend of just pure white trash and anti-Apple dorks best I can tell

Cook has always been good to AU, featuring our games in Apple keynotes and the like. These inbred fricks whining about him can eat shite and die.

It's amazing that you kinda have to play "iOS-Android warrior or neo-nazi" when it comes to stuff like this

Professionally: He's an operations executive that ascended after Jobs didn't drink enough organic smoothies. Apple hasn't innovated anything since Jobs' death.

Personally: He's unlikable and abnormal. Jimmy Rayne is holding court in that quadrant and likes no competition.

Opinion: His money would be nice, but the political baggage is intolerable to the BOT and Auburn people in general. Me included. I don't want his kind of politics at my alma mater.

(edit) I have an iphone, iPad, and macbook pro. The stuff just works, but that precedes Tim Cook.

Yeah it’s the first I’ve heard of it. I think he’s a great guy for us to have as an alum.

He's literally done nothing to try and promote SJW politics at Auburn. Nothing.

He shows our blowout football wins during Apple events and is a Silicon Valley celebrity who praises a school in East Alabama.

Your fears are stupid and unwarranted.

Noted. What does that mean exactly? He has an off-button? I spent over 100 business days in SV last year, the year before, the year before, the year before, etc.

Perhaps he knows what Auburn is from personal experience, appreciates that a conservative school in Alabama isn't the enemy of all progress his contemporaries might view it as, and acts accordingly?

Perhaps, perhaps not. I'll leave it with the objective proof that no major donations have been actively solicited or accepted from Tim Cook from his time as COO or CEO at Apple, spanning roughly 15-20 years. Maybe Greene changes the dynamic for the benamins.

Are you talking donations to the AD or the school? I’m certain he’s giving money to the University.

I'm certain he's done many significant donations to Auburn University give or take over the course of time.

I'm talking about the Sam Ginn type PR donation events that involve buildings or endownment monies.

He is CEO of the single largest publicly owned company in the world (Apple). Apple's market value is close to 1 trillion dollars (yes, trillion with a t). He's a fantastic alum to have and he could buy and sell just about every single ranter without even noticing its effects on his bank balance.

You're making my point. He's bonafide, to use a southern colloquillism. He's been in the Apple executive suite for maybe two decades. And yet there's been no grand donation ceremony.

I have my opinion, an informed opinion but an opinion nonetheless; If you want strings attached to donations to make AU something other than its mission, your money is no good here.

(edit) I'm a tech guy too. I've worked in tech since I graduated to present. Auburn is a land-grant institution. Agriculture, Engineering, Architecture, other sciences too. Great business school as well, but inside that school its transportation, logistics, supply chain, focused on manufacturing.

I would love to hear what you think is Auburn University’s mission and why something Tim Cook might want to see happen would somehow run contrary to that.
