I know Vince Young was the #1 recruit of the 2002 class. I dispute that he was your highest rated recruit of all time compared to the hype surrounding Chris Sims, nor was it as big of a shock (national news).
The biggest controversy of the 2002 class was the question of who was the better player, Vince Young or Reggie McNeal. While the question was answered in terms of actual performance, you have to wonder if those two were on each others' teams would the results have been the same.
