OU beat 'em much worse. Tech was shown to be overhyped.

LSU was 3-5 in the SEC without blowout losses to 3 teams.

Late though, is there any doubt Ole Miss was one of the best teams in America?

You lost to Vandy.

To be fair...

yall played La Monroe, Miss St and Lsu to close out the season. Not exactly powerhouses. (sorry lsu fans, just this past

Yeah we played an easy schedule but we beat those teams 59-0, 31-13 and 45 to 0.
We had more points than state had total yards (37)

I'm just saying that good teams can hang with florida.
They stopped looking invincible once they started playing teams like Bama and Oklahoma.

Florida could not have beaten OU without harvin.
How much guys like demps and rainey improve will determine if UF is going to win the NC again this year.

Winning is never strictly about talent.

It is about team chemistry, about mis-matches at key positions, and, above all, in the SEC, about having a quarterback that is head-and-shoulders above the normal level and a defensive line that can dominate the line of scrimmage.

I don't agree with this AT ALL...

Gave up a touchdown in garbage time and a pick six. I was there, there was no question at all Ole Miss was much better. Just watch the team at the end of last year, you'll see what I'm saying is true.

I'm calling it...

Ole Miss is the 2008 national champions over the last few games of the season because they played better than anyone else...and besides, we'll never know what sorta arse-whoopin' they woulda laid on Okie, USCw, Utah, etc.

Or even Whoop-arse Part Deux over Florida! Ole Miss is AWESOME!!!

That's silly. They might have lost but saying they "could not" win is silly.

The second game of the season.
Our first year QB threw four interceptions in that game.
We fumbled the game winning touchdown into the endzone and fumbled a punt return in Vandy territory.

We doubled their offensive output. We absolutely could not have played a worse game.

To add to it we had one starting DL not injured or playing out of position.

Nobody ever said this.
We were a top 5 team at the end of the season.
We weren't the best team, but we could have hung with anyone.
And yes...
We were better than Bama.

You lost to Wake the second game of the season. Vandy was the 4th game.

Shades of UGA:

'07 = "we were the best...IF you ignore our earlier losses"

Then they get a HUGE Hype-fest for the following season

Sorry.
My bad.
The 4th game of the season.

We lost the second game of the season on a bs Pass interference call. 4 games by a total of 19 points in the first 7.

Beginning of the season and end of season are night and day.

But they all result in a 4 loss season, which is what is counted when it's all said and done.

I will amend my earlier brash post.

"I'm calling it...

"Ole Miss is the 2008 national champions over the last few games of the season because they played better than anyone else...and besides, we'll never know what sorta arse-whoopin' they woulda laid on Okie, USCw, Utah, etc. Yeah, okay, so the Missies may have lost Vandy, but they were legit Top Ten material! They beat Auburn, which is a KNOWN POWERHOUSE! Second games of the season shouldn't really mean squat anyway! I mean, c'mon...it's frickin' GAME TWO fer crissakes! Ole Miss' QB was just learning the system, threw four interceptions which were ANOMOLIES! Forget 'em...THAT'S NOT OLE MISS BALL! Ole Miss DOUBLED Vandy's offensive output. DOUBLED...that means twice as much! And the Missies woulda STILL won that game, but literally GAVE them a fumble late in the game. Plus, a starting D tackle was hurt or lined up wrong or something, so y'all can just dis-REE-gard that damn POS game. THAT AIN'T OLE MISSY BALL!!!

"And we would have for-guaranteed-damn-sure done a Whoop-arse Part Deux over Florida! Ole Miss is AWESOME!!!"

Who did you beat?

Arky was bad and you beat them by 2.

Auburn was bad and you beat them by 10 at home.

Nobody loses to ULM (except this one time...)

LSU went 3-5 in the SEC.

Miss St Stinks.

TTU was fresh off a 44 point spanking to OU and and a near loss to BAYLOR.

I think Ole Miss was good at the end of last season but honestly the schedule just wasn't that hard.

Right, but my big point is how this translates to next season.
Being close counts from year to year.
Get ready.
