TIL- Nick Saban voice-acted Abraham Lincoln for LPB

One TV at my gym is always on LPB (better than ESPN these days) and they've been airing "Louisiana: A History," a 2003 documentary over the past four days. Being a history nerd, I found it interesting, but not enough to link up my headphones; anyway, when the credits rolled around I saw "Abraham Lincoln-Nick Saban," I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me and that he just got some "special credit to" shout-out, but I looked it up and it's apparently true, (search for his name here), thought it's not in his IMDb filmography. I guess it makes sense, Lincoln was from KY, Saban is from neighboring WV. Bert Jones and Terry Bradshaw do had voice acting roles. I invite anyone dedicated enough to watch the video in the first link and find his audio. Your useless trivia for today

I wonder how much Saint Nick paid to voice Lincoln instead of being assigned r e lee or some other confederate loser?

Of all the critiques you make of the Confederacy, the label of "loser" is really telling. The US lost the Vietnam War, and we have lost the Afghanistan War, the Iraq War, etc. I wonder if you would have the courage to call the Vets who served in those theaters, "Losers." I doubt it.
Losing a war has nothing to do with being right or wrong.

You're right. The rebel scumbags would've been morally abhorrent even had they won. Actually, moreso, had they won because they would've continued to hold other human beings in bondage as well as rape, torture and abuse them at will. It was good for their souls to lose.

Look what Saban did to
Make it Look Good for the recruits and mamas !!
He played politics and worked to get a democrat senator elected
But then that democrat senator tried to do a coup on the American voters
He voted to throw Alabamas elected president to be thrown out for nothing and stop the voters chance
And now he helps the inexperienced young players to ruin their financial future by playing politics against half the population
This is what is called INSANE Personal greed
Yes that helps sabans with the black majority democrats and maybe helps his recruiting them

This now gives other other coaches great chances to get Sabans best recruits
Now other teams coaches have something to take away sabans best recruits
Explaining how Saban is insane with personal greed that he pisses off half the population which then lowers the NFL players salaries

There is a very vigorous debate in the comments section between one anti Confederate and various pro Confederates. Here is one nugget that shows how opinions varied on the necessity of preserving slavery, even across the South. Not sure why people feel the need to see Southerners as uniform.
Blacks fighting for the South
" Lewis Steiner, who was Chief inspector of the United States Sanitary Commission had no motivation to paint the Confederate Army in a good light! A quote form him;
Dr. Lewis Steiner, Chief Inspector of the United States Sanitary Commission while observing Gen. “Stonewall” Jackson’s occupation of Frederick, Maryland, in 1862: “Over 3,000 Negroes must be included in this number [Confederate troops]. These were clad in all kinds of uniforms, not only in cast-off or captured United States uniforms, but in coats with Southern buttons, State buttons, etc. These were shabby, but not shabbier or seedier than those worn by white men in the rebel ranks........ MOST OF THE NEGROES HAD ARMS, RIFLES, MUSKETS, SABERS, BOWIE-KNIVES, DIRKS, etc., and were MANIFESTLY AN INTEGRAL PORTION of the SOUTHERN CONFEDERATE ARMY.”
Stonewall Jackson commanded a corps at this time which was about half of Lee's Army. The size of Jackson's corps varied between 25,000 and 35,000 men. So if Steiner's estimate of 3,000 black soldiers is correct, that would be about 10% of Jackson's corps. "

Early in the war, James Alcorn, a powerful planter-politician from Mississippi began to talk openly about emancipation. Duncan Kenner, one of the most powerful slaveholders in the South and a chairman in the Confederate Congress, urged slavery to be abolished. Robert E Lee believed slavery was evil and favored gradual emancipation. The Confederate Secretary of State, Judah Benjamin, and Governor William Smith of Virginia, also supported ending slavery. By late 1864, Jefferson Davis himself was prepared to abolish slavery in order to gain European diplomatic recognition and thus save the Confederacy, which shows independence was more important to him than preserving slavery.
As early as 1863, an editorial in the "Jackson Mississippian" declared slavery should not be "a barrier to our independence. If it is found in the way -- if it proves an insurmountable object of the achievement of our liberty and separate nationality, away with it! Let it perish!" This was a drastic step, but "we must make our minds to one solemn duty, the first duty of the patriot, and that is to save ourselves from the rapacious North."

The north had more white men than the south
Nearly all men were white men
The south gave the north higher casualties in battle but the north had more white men than the south and won
Today's nation is missing what the civil war and all wars prove
Who wins the wars ?
Now check to see who is on whose side to know who will win big against the other
Who is on the democrats side and who is on the republican side
Check history to know what is suddenly about to happen and who will win and who will lose
Football will be delayed until this has been done

You do realize don't you that the vast majority of Rebel troops never owned slaves right? All this concern about rape and torture of Blacks when you show no concern at all that Blacks today commit 90% of all interracial crime. In fact, there are virtually no White on Black rapes today, but Black on White rape is not infrequent according to the data.
