You know nothing, Pettifogger.

Where do you expect to rank in noise? I'd certainly put you behind UF, LSU and AU right now.

Was not aware of this news. Thanks for the update!

never been to kyle, so I cant comment on that. however ive been to baton rouge on Saturday night. its frickin violently loud. you don't talk shite in that stadium. a couple drunk arse Cajuns will let you tote an asswhippin outta there.i aint scared, just prudent. its the worst place in the world to play in on a Saturday night.

How can you--or anyone--know that at this point?

Let's be honest here. Once you get north of 90k in a stadium setting, you're usually splitting hairs subjectively when it comes to noise. Kyle will be loud. Tiger Stadium will be loud. AU is loud. And so on and so forth.
Only thing I am absolutely certain of is that Kyle will be louder than ever before because of the additional seating and the closed in design.

Well we're going off history. If TAMU had traditionally been deemed a really intimidating place to play, I'd be more likely to think that the renovations would result in a DV competitor.
I mean, maybe the new stadium will make that much more of a difference, but as we've seen with Alabama and UGA, fan bases that aren't exceptionally loud haven't gotten too much louder with more seating/decks.
Isn't that the whole point of the thread?

hows this, baton rouge on Saturday night is the worst ive attended. not opposing team or fan friendly. like I said never been to kyle.

Texas A&M's fanbase is already known to be one of the nation's exceptionally loud fanbases.
Now that the stadium will be completely enclosed ....
... I guess I'm not understanding why you think the deafening noise from the 12th Man would be minimized, post-expansion?

You should make the trip in 2015

Stadium renovations will be completed by then.

I don't think it will be minimized at all, I'm sure it'll be improved. I've just never picked up on the fanbase being loud, at least on the level of LSU and the like.

You're one of the exceptions, then, tbh.

Really?
That's interesting.
Kyle Field is known to be one of the loudest stadiums in the country (depending on the list you use, I guess).
That's the entire purpose of the 12th Man--30K+ yelling students who stand the entire game and yell like freaks.

Don't get me wrong, I'm aware of the reputation that TAMU has great fans and at Kyle last season I didn't think "wow this is totally unintimidating," but in a conference where ear damage is a real possibility at times, I just didn't pick up that TAMU got to that level.

I'm not going to Google a bunch of subjective/opinion-based lists; but I'd bet you'd be hard-pressed to find one that didn't put Kyle towards the top, in terms of noise.
Blistering.

I've been at field level at Kyle when 90k plus were losing their collective shite. My ears rang for a week.
We'll agree to disagree about the ear damage thing
It's all good, though. Like i said, after awhile loud is loud.

Kyle Field needs all the help they can get to increase their "noise factor". That is why they put so much emphasize on the new stadium design to "make it louder".

Was there last year for AU-A&M. Had a good time, though the need for a stadium reboot was apparent. To be fair we could use some upgrades too. Didn't hang out for long so I'm eager to see more of CS and the "new" Kyle on the next trip.
