I won't go to deep into any analysis but I had a few thoughts about what I saw today.

1. Auburn once again started slow. This has become an alarming trend and needs to be addressed immediately. Arkansas's explosive offense took advantage of that early and they took advantage of it often, scoring 27 points in the first half.

2. Turnovers killed us, and that is all there is to it. That game might have been a little closer if Tate doesn't give away a free touchdown and Fannin doesn't give Arkansas the ball inside the 30 on fumbles.

3. The offense looked pitiful to start the game. Most of the fallacy comes back to Todd; who left his receivers out to dry and overthrew a few clear throws that would have led to scores.

4. The Auburn Defense. I am baffled, BAFFLED, at how poorly they play. I understand that Arkansas is a damn good offensive team, but they completely let the game get out of hand early, and once our offense began to click and made the game within reach, they choked it away again. With Gene Chizik, Ted Roof, and Tracy Rocker all on the same staff, I am befuddled regarding our defense.

5. Our defensive front failed to get pressure on Mallett, and he shredded us just as many thought he would given that opportunity.

6. I'm not one to conspire about SEC conspiracies, but the referees caused Auburn some serious grief in this game. Several bad calls that ruined any semblance of momentum occurred, and it hurt us badly.

7. On that same note, to go alongside several of the horrible calls, there were some legitimate ones that I attribute to lack of discipline. You do not grab a facemask of a player that is already falling out of bounds. It's just not done.

8. Boulware sucks. And I mean, he fricking sucks. A coaching staff full of winners and Chizik brings in this guy from Iowa State to coach Special Teams. What a joke he is. Our special teams showed improvement last week but regressed back to what they have been this week. Poor coverage is one of the main reasons our rally fell apart in the end.

9. Auburn is 5-1, and split @Arkansas and @Tennessee; like most predicted they would. The sky is not falling and everyone laughing at us is a hypocrite that more than likely predicted us to be one of the worst teams in the country at this point. We need to get it together and beat Kentucky next weekend.

Schedule is as schedule does and the toughest team you played before us was either Tennessee or Louisville.

And I'm sure the snide insult near the end was just to enhance your opinion?

If we lose to Kentucky at home, then I will become very concerned.

Auburn made a plethora of mistakes and Arkansas played a good game. That's how you get blown out. We pulled it together in the second half but it was too little too late.

Unfortunately, the admins aren't paying attention or think it's good for enhancing post counts. The problem is, that the decent posters are going to look elsewhere and they're going to end up having a al.com type shite site...unfortunately.

Ross - we dressed only FOUR scholarship LBs.....FOUR. We are hurting in terms of speed and aggressiveness to pressure the QB or stop the run. That makes us susceptible to big plays.

We need to respond well against UK and click in the 1st qtr offensively like we did in the 3rd today.

My biggest issue still with this offense is Burns.....I have NO idea what the frick we are hoping will happen when he comes in in the Wildcat. Hell, I could defend that play when he comes in. There is no secret what he is going to do with the ball EVERY time. I HATE losing momentum with that wildcat bullshite. If Malzahn thinks he is so valuable to have on the field, then put him in out wide and throw him the ball on a quick slant or screen.

I am not entirely sure here. That kickoff coverage did screw us royaly when we had all the momentum in the world, but we are also playing almost all back up, 3rd teamers, and even scout guys on our kickoff team. I have been saying it would cost us at least 1 game and it may be more now. That said, ultimate responsibility is Boulware unless someone else is requiring this.

I think we will be fine and bounce back next week. This was a let down game for us IMO.

Terrible defense, made worse by your offense's fast play.
Auburn has become a Big 12 team

It wasn't just the linebackers, I expected that group to hurt. It was the overall lack of pressure from the defensive front and the lack of discipline that we played with that concerned me.

But like I said, it was one of the best offensive teams in the SEC. If we can pull it together against Kentucky I'll feel a lot better.

Most games the flags work out and over a season they definitely do.

It think you beat Ky but I thought you would beat Ark. too. You are just an injury or two from a complete collapse. Been there and done that when Shula was coaching at Bama.

I agree. And I agree with what you said about Todd earlier. He started the game and played like Cox did against GA in that morning game a couple of years back. Seemed like we had TERRIBLE spacing on offense in the 1st and 2nd quarters.

The same could be said for almost every team in the country at certain positions.

No disrespect, but you have lost your flucking mind! I watched the entire game and you could not be more full of shite. Enough said on that aspect of the game.

BTW, what makes your HEAD COACH think that just because his team trails late that he need not coach the remainder of the game. That was so weak. Explain that please.

Those things being said, GOOD POST!!
