Had the NCAA announced the 5 for 5 rule prior to draft there wouldn't be an issue. However by doing so after draft alot of players that thought they didnt have eligibility left had no option but to seek out opportunities in nfl. Its like taking a test walking out thinking the alotted time is over and then learning there is still 30 min left the teacher just added on after u left the room. Its silly. Then the big 10 and sec, not to be out done, doubled down on stupid by trying to retroactively inact a stupid penalty structure for those players that already had fought and won in courts. All they had to do was say we will honor the courts decision for this year. In future going forward 5yrs to play 5. If you leave and sign a contract with pro league or play in a sanctioned pro contest u are voluntarily surrendering any remaining eligibility. Period. Problem is solved and the penalties outlined could be enforced. Smh

BREAKING: the NCAA is incompetent

College Athletics has been rudderless for a long time now. The NCAA is absolutely useless and has handed over its duties to Congress and the Courts. If anything does get done it’s at the conference level.
There is another way to handle this. How about the conference commissioners get together and agree that no school shall take players that have moved on to the NFL. Once they agree then go back and tell the coaches that these players are not eligible and cannot be brought back. All it takes is a little leadership. At some point the integrity of the game has to start being considered again. It should be pretty easy for both coaches and conferences to get on board if they really love and appreciate the game.
