People said that about Alabama replacing two All-American offensive linemen, and another All-SEC honorable mention offensive lineman. Turns out, this year's offensive line was better. I'm not saying we'll be better. I just think Alabama can be as good in 2010. There's a insane amount of talent waiting for their turn.

replacing 2 offensive linemen isn't comparable to replacing possibly 5-7 starters on defense.

We've rotated so much in the front seven, I really wouldn't worry about the defense falling off that much. There's a lot of experienced players coming back, even with six starters leaving. The offense will be nearly intact. They can certainly pick of the slack, for a retooled defense in 2010.

LSU wasn't too hot in '02 after 4 years of Saban and '04 after 6 years of Saban.

2002 was injury plagued, especially at QB, for LSU. LSU finished the 2004 regular season strong.

Saban never got to coach his most talented roster.

REGULAR SEASON. It was obvious LSU was distracted in the bowl, with Saban already announcing he was taking the Miami job before the Citrus Bowl.

"Sickning"

To our foes it is. That's why Saban is One of The best in College Football. At 4Mil a year he's really a Bargain.
I Vote he resigns for 6 Mil a year.

If we win the upcoming NC a lot of 5 And 4 Stars are going to switch or come in here.

Yet you leave out one of the worst coached games I have ever seen . 04 UGA trumps 08 FL and UGA combined.

We played absolutly no one at the end of the year worth a damn.

eh

There will be no domination of the SEC by one team, as in the 1970s ... w/ scholarship limits and NCAA watchdogs to prevent the cheating from getting TOO flagrant. Mano a mano, Saban is a better coach than Miles. As an overall CEO/hirer of assistant coaches, they're fairly even, although I'd give the edge to Saban. Recruiting ... again, fairly even, but I'd give a slight edge to Saban. What you've seen over the past three years (the close games) is two programs pretty darn mirror images of each other. I can actually foresee FL sliding down a notch before either LSU or AL. Let's see how Meyer Weiner does w/o his boy Timmy. AL's downfall could come several ways: another jackass booster gets them on probation, or Saban chases off coordinators/assistant coaches b/c he's a prick to work for. I do see AL having a nice run for the foreseeable future ... but I think LSU will compete year in and year out for SEC West and SEC championships (and thus, national championships.) There will be years where LSU has the edge over Bama in experience in key positions, for example, QB. Just not as often as we Tiger fans would like.

Saban lost 7 or 8 starters after his first season at Bama and had a better defense the next year. Not saying that will be the case next year but it is his area of expertise and he will have a good one regardless.
