It’s only a good thing if they are actually playing relatively clean and not gaining advantage outside of the rules.
If an egregious pass interference occurs on a pivotal play and the ref “lets them play”, then that isn’t a good thing. That’s just as bad as throwing too many flags.
Refs are there to keep the game fair. They aren’t just black and white lawn ornaments.
