I used to drive through WV three to four times a year. It's fat and filled with hicks. Also, they have a golden dome abomination of a capitol building (I think it's their capitol building), so they got that weird tackiness that we Southerners sometimes let slip for some reason.
More importantly, though, I can confirm that, heading north, they are the last state where you can reliably find grits and sweet tea at any restaurant other than Cracker Barrels and Bob Evans. While I don't have to like it -- because I don't -- I have to concede they have a certain Southerness (Southerninity? Southernicity? whatever) about them.

Look, I hate the fact that we invited SJW University aka Misery into the conference. They fit the SEC about like a skinhead fits at The Oprah Winfrey show. But WVA would actually be worse. They might be a better athletic fit but from a fan base perspective, it would be a bad one.

Missouri to the B1G (Should have always been this way to begin with.)
Maryland back to the ACC
VT to the SEC.

Its the SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE. frick them hillbillies. Not even geographically close. And for same reason I didnt want Mizzou or TAMU.
