Professor rebeloke,

My theory is that Jackie's return to prominence occurred at a different place in Grind History. I will argue my points in tomorrow's thesis, so I hope that you will reconsider this grade of C+ and award me a B.

That's a lot of feels. I legit feel bad for y'all now.

But feels don't win football games and our secondary doesn't care. We killed your program in 2000 and are going to make sure it stays dead Saturday. 38-10.

Your post is also rich, because Ole Piss' shite football program cant win even when they do cheat

Ole Miss probations in the last 50 years: At least two

Ole Miss championships in the last 50 years: 0

So you're saying that when I said, "that's rich," that in saying that, that what I said is also rich because "Ole Piss" (good one) is shitty and we can't win when we do cheat?

Got it. Thanks for clearing that up. Try not to trip on your lip today, mouth breather.

Bob Barker gets it.

All State had during this four year period of "having a better record than the rest of the West" (Is that better than saying being the best team in the West?) was a great defense that hit you in the mouth and dominated games.

The offense was a shite show on grass. Wayne Madkin was the quarterback for goodness sake. LSU killed our momentum because somewhere in the middle of the 3rd quarter, Saban figured out Joe Lee Dunn. He exposed the gimmick defense in the 4th quarter and showed everyone how to beat us.

If Michigan State would have ponied up and kept Saban after the '99 season, MSU might have had a few more years of success.

I like our chances playing the worse LSU team I've seen in awhile TBH. You can't blame our fanbase for having high hopes. Most is trolling, but we probably are going to upset you. LSU will lose to both MS SEC teams this year.

Maybe you can make an argument, but I choose to look at the records from 1997-2000.

MSU 33-15 (20-12 SEC)

and no one else had a winning SEC record in those four years
Alabama 24-23 (16-16)
Ole Miss 30-18 (15-17)
Arkansas 27-20 (15-17)
Auburn 27-21 (15-17)
LSU 24-22 (14-18)

I wonder why Choctaw's ignorant arse doesn't respond to this post?

Choctaw has a point about Auburn winning two division titles in that time period, but those middle two years for Auburn were awful. You have the consider the whole.

My argument is that despite two division titles over the four year period, Auburn was five games behind MSU in SEC wins and six games behind MSU in overall wins. MSU also won all four games against Auburn in this four year span.

I am assuming that he is is arguing in favor of Auburn being the best team in those four years. I don't see another valid argument. Maybe Alabama, but the same rings true. MSU had nine more overall wins and four more SEC wins, the same number of division titles and a 3-1 record head to head.

still, the number of response threads started by LSU fans towards state threads is amusing.

So is your ability to reply to the correct person.

Tell the story of Steve Robertson predicting a Rosebowl in 2001

Or the story of Deuce and Romaro shredding State's last good team in 2000

would you really consider that to be dominance?

I honestly can never recall MSU being thought of as a "dominant" or "juggernaut" team as you use the terms. Good, yes. SECW contender, yes. They have never had anywhere close to the realm of significance to any SEC foe that you portray here.

We rushed the field after the 2000 game.

Just saying.

Let me guess. You are one of these Ole Piss fans who walk around with a snobby, elitist attitude too ignorant to realize most of the rest of the world considers your school a joke both academically and athletically

Ah, the story of Rosebowl Robertson.

A small defense is that at the time, we did not realize that Saban had exposed us in 2000. The 2001 season wasn't as bad as the 3-8 record indicates. I believe there were five or six losses that were less than one score (although Florida curb stomped us in the biggest beat down I have ever personally witnessed).

Headed into the 2001 season, we were returning a ton of players that had a lot of experience. The jackass known as Steve Robertson basically predicted we would be playing in the Rose Bowl - the national championship game of that season.

A lot like Dak's Heisman chatter - most reasonable MSU fans wrote it off, thinking we'd have a solid team but not a title contender. Of course there was a contingent that believed that bullshite.

LSU had exposed the secret to beating the gimmick defense in 2000. Despite that, we ran the same scheme anyway in '01 and '02. Minor changes in '03 led to the retirement of Jackie Sherrill and the Joe Lee Dunn Division II/III tour.

Deuce and Romaro shredded us for an entire game like LSU did in the fourth quarter. Telling you, that is the worst 15 minutes of game time in MSU history. It killed our program.

I think the point may be that based on records MSU didn't exactly dominate. The division seemed pretty even. Had LSU won 3 more sec games and MSU lost 3 more in that span the records would have been even.

I do remember when State was good but as an LSU fan I never feared them. We had success against State during one of our worst decades ever. Not trying to sound arrogant or put down State but Florida & Tenn were the teams that scared me.

Not dominance, but Choctaw stated that MSU "wasn't even close" to being the best team in the SEC West from 1997-2000. I'd be interested to hear how he came to that conclusion myself.

Good read. LSU fans always talk about the 2000 UT game being a turning point (and it was), but the MSU game that year was just as big.

That was the first time I ever saw Saban smile, when he was being interviewed on the field after the game. His teeth were still jacked up and it was not a pretty sight
