Sark is Lincoln Riley. Good enough to get you to the playoffs every now and then but never going to win the big one.

Do y’all have a basketball team this year?

He made pretty much one bad offensive play call all game, and it’s not because he’s more of a HC than OC. He just made a stupid call. It’s not a monumental alteration of who he is. He’s made the final 4 for two years straight.

He walks up to Sark and says Steve let's go ahead put your cute little sheet away for this one. Put Arch in and run the sneak until I say different. Thanks Steve.
No way do you run outside the tackles there. If you can’t put your head down and get a yard in 4 tries you don’t deserve to win.

Sark probably lost 8 yards on purpose so he could create more field and open up his play sheet.
OC thru and thru. Nothing more, nothing less.

Instagram culture has spread to the coaching profession. In that scenario of 2nd and goal from the 1 after a failed 1st down power run, coaches fear the criticism of running up the middle 3 more times (a play call anyone could come up with), failing, and being called unintelligent and lacking creativity. They would rather use their “special play” and either look like a genius when it works or at least say they are “aggressive” if it fails.
Same with James Franklin not taking it to overtime and going air raid with a struggling QB when the run game is all that had worked all night. He feared being called conservative if they lost in OT.
Most programs don’t have a strong CEO leading a winning strategy anymore. It’s just two coordinators taking turns auditioning for HC jobs hoping their team has more points when the clock hits zero.
