This is really a generational thing.

If you are over 45 you probably hate all his antics whether you are an A&M fan or not.

If you are 25-45 it is split and it may matter if you are an A&M fan.

If you are under 25 you probably love it, and wish he would just flip the bird to everyone.

For example, I had this discussion with my teenage boys and his buddies this weekend. (All junior high school athletes.) They thought he flipped Rice the bird and they loved it. They said it made him a rebel, fighting the system, etc.
They are all LSU and Bama fans btw.

So you got me.

My bad - Like I said In the original post I was watching with a ton of LSU fans. They thought JFF flipped off the guys so a mealy ensued.

I am half deaf so I could not hear the tv and was getting reamed by the LSU crowd even though I am a Tiger as well - they show no mercy on me for A&M.

So we argued for an hour on how it should have been a penalty on Rice and A&M. I never knew Rice had a penalty called till right now.

They have not mentioned the the Rice Player was called for taunting on any sports show I have watched.

If it was a double offsetting call then my mistake.

I would say this. If this is something coaches tell players to do - the refs should call the player for taunting right when it happens. Not wait for a reaction.

The Tebow analogy still stands. I was at the game. But the was King Tebow. He doesn't care about taunting - only leading by turning the other cheek.

could it have been because:

a) part of his "punishment" was to apologize to his teammates for drawing unecessary attention and speculation towards the program for his actions? then acted an arse regardless. Almost as a slap to the NCAA's face? With hundreds of thousands of people watching the game Saturday.

b) it was Rice University he was talking shite to. A doormat of the CUSA.

c) regardless of how much someone else is shite talking, there are times in your life where it's just better to stfu, get your job done, and call it a day?

a. The NCAA stuff is completely irrelevant to JFF's behavior on Saturday. The fact that you and others bring it up only proves that you are extremely arse hurt that he walked away with only a 30 minute suspension. Why can't you and others accept it and move on? I would suggest that you get some counseling to help you get over it.

b. It is irrelevant who he was talking shite to. That makes this even MORE of a non-story that ESPN is perpetuating.

c. Show me one Aggie that has disagreed with that statement.

Not to lose the point on that....point, but, if JFF was classless and out of control, so was Tim Tebow, right. I mean that video pretty much confirms that Tebow did the same damn thing.

I don't think Tebow was out of control, I think ESPN is masturbatingly out of control and needs to knock it TF off with the negative JFF reporting on non-stories.

Wasn't that one chomp at the OU players the only time Tebow was ever flagged for a PF? I highly doubt JFF goes 11 more games without doing anything of the sort

How many times has JFF been flaged for a PF? Not seeing your point.

Speculation on how many times JFF gets flagged for a PF. It's irrelevant. They both had 1 PF for taunting. Both did the same thing. Both are not "classless" or "out of control" because of it.

Tebow was awesome, JM is a bitch. Accept it and move on. Embrace your backup QB, he'll be number one before the season is over.

So far once. In his first game. He'll need to go 11 more games (and 2 more seasons after that if you wanna get technical) for this Tebow argument to have any merit.

So, Tebow taunted and was flagged. JFF taunted and was flagged, but somehow, JFF is more out of control because he MIGHT get flagged in the future?

It is apples and oranges to compare Tebow to Manziel. It is ridiculous. While neither is perfect, I can't remember once anyone asking Meyer if Tebow was a problem.

Hey Urban, you have had a bunch of problem players at UF, what are you gonna do to reign in this Tebow guy?

It's the Aggie OP that's worried about the aTm bitch QB getting flagged unfairly not us.

The point is taunting doesn't make someone a bad person.

Tebow's was vs. LSU. Cant recall year but could cost shot at Natty.

Much much much more of a stupid move considering the situation.

We are discussing on the field now. only.

Not offseason.

My fear is offseason will be used against JFF on the field. Even though nothing was found.

So, Johnny is out of control, but Tebow is not....for the same offense?

You, others, and ESPN are making a mountain out of a mole hill to perpetuate the narrative that JFF is out of control. The taunting call does not indicate that JFF is any more out of control than any other player his is being taunted by an opponent.

I've always said Tebow was one of the better college football players I have seen, and I've seen a lot.

His shite with the LSU fans was for a game. JM doesn't realize being a spoiled rich black child should stop when he gets on the football field.

I personally hope he's flagged every time he opens his mouth on the field. If he calls an audible, he should be flagged for taunting.

If one if his zits pops, he should be flagged for taunting...farts...taunting...

I think others have state that JFF needs to stop taunting and avoid the taunting calls.

I don't think we can expect to see other poor calls, like no calls on late hits on JFF and roughing the passer no calls. We'll just have to see.

The refs were not wrong in flagging JFF for taunting. They should have been flagging the Rice players, but JFF pointed to the scoreboard right in front of the refs. Gets flagged every single time.

And THAT is what ESPN, the fricking longhorns, and most of the hating nation is hoping for.
