Go back and look for yourself, nutsack. I brought the Coker thing to the board before it was ever publicly disclosed. I've got close friends with FSU affiliations and first hand knowledge of things in the athletic department there. Also, there have been several FSU folks (one GA with the athletic dept) on this thread who have said the same thing. I don't care what you, or any of the other idiots think about the Winston/Coker deal at FSU because I know what happened.

This is good shite. Now we have grad assistants at FSU on the board. I love TD.

His 50% completion rating and his interception vs Wake Forest!!!! What more do you need to know!

So, you only looked at his stats and didn't actually look in depth at his in season play?

Last week was Bama posters constantly making theads about Yeldon seeking board approval.

It must be Coker's week now.

As a Bama fan I'm not buying the hype. I don't think he's going to break every Bama passing record and win the Heisman. But what many rival fans are missing in this whole discussion, is that Bama doesn't need him to be that good. Bama NEVER has a future NFL 1st rounder at QB, we have mid to late round guys that can manage the offense and make smart throws. Coker seems very much capable of being a good game manager who can make some throws, and that's all Bama needs to be a contender. The past 6 years with JP Wilson, McElroy and AJ have proven this time and again. So rival fans, DWI.

Well, I talked to memphisplaya who was a trainer at FSU last year... He said Jake had a bigger arm and a bigger dong than Jaboo

Really? One link was from before the 2010 season and included fans of teams not named AU talking about how Cam would suck based on the body of work to that point with points like this:
quote:

Never seen so much talk over a mediocre QB...

quote:

Newton is overrated. His accuracy is atrocious, but he's a pretty good running QB. I wonder if Auburn's spread is going to go to more of an option game. If not, I think it will be a huge mistake throwing it around 30-35 times with Newton.

It also included AU fans claiming the contrary with points like this:
quote:

After seeing how much improved Chris Todd was this year, I have faith our coaching staff will have his accuracy in check..

quote:

His accuracy has apparently improved since he left UF. I believe it was 60.7% last year. Sorry but that is not even close to "atrocious".

That's just on the first two pages. how does that not back up my claims that there were similar threads about Cam before he played at AU?

All I am going to say about any of this is that if Fisher is hanging his hat of getting Russell, Ponder, and Manuel picked in the first round of the NFL draft, he is a better salesman than a QB coach.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make... is it that all fans have unreal expectations?

Cam was a Spring enrollee.... Coker was not... Cam was a JUCO all American and national champ... Coker was a backup who got injured in scrub time... Cam was a four star high school product... Coker was a lightly recruited 3-star afterthought from a wing T offense.

Not sure I get the comparison... unless we're strictly talking fan reaction.

This. I'm not comparing the two as prospects. I'm comparing how rival fans expressed their expectations about Cam before he ever played a down at AU and how AU fans had different expectations. The same (as it relates to fan expectations) is true with Coker at Bama. Rival fans think he will not be very good. Bama fans (mostly) think he will be fine. None of it really matters until the games actually begin because nothing posted on this board is going to change the opinions of fans from either side of the argument.

The one element that Saban's offenses have lacked since he's been at Bama is a legitimate running threat at qb. AJ was good for a 10-15 yard scramble every now and then but I believe Coker has the ability to seriously hurt a defense if they don't respect his legs.

He is the best St Paul's QB in last ten years. He beat Winston out bur did not get the job. He beat out the 4 star FSU coaches son that was there. QB will not be the problem at Bama this year as much as all of us at LSU was hoping it would be. Les Miles was interested in him and offered him a spot too btw as did someother SEC schools.

I'm excited to have a QB with the mobility to really threaten a defense. Opens up things a lot.

So where exactly did any Auburn fan say how great he would be like you said in your first post?

Saying "hopefully his accuracy is better under this staff" is comparable to the circle jerk that is Bama fans with Coker?

Nah

Where is this circle jerk for Coker? The overwhelming majority of Bama fans I have seen on here haven't gone out of their way to say he will be the next Manning brother. Most just want him to be efficient.
