He's been coached by Jimbo Fisher for 3 years. Same Jimbo that's got 3 quarterbacks drafted in round 1. I see you say this all the time, you act like Coker just woke up from a coma and is going to have to learn everything about being a quarterback from Lane Kiffin. At this point, Coker has as good or better coaching than any QB in the country.

I agree, but Coker is 6ft 5in, 230 LBS. Masoli was 5ft 11, 220 lbs. One has ideal size for a QB and a very strong arm. The other had neither of those things..and was playing for Ole Miss (no offense, Rebel fans, but it's not like Masoli had as much talent around him as Coker will).

As a former GA with FSU, yes, it was very close. Everyone on strength staff was surprised with Jameis over Coker. Obviously it worked out for us very, very well though. I was upset to see Jake go. He was one of my favorite athletes I got to work with there, and having him as a Jameis contingency plan was a HUGE advantage. Jake on Bama's offense is going to be very, very hard to beat.

And guys. I was also a GA at FSU this past season. And not only can I confirm what was posted earlier about Jake, but I was told that even Coach Fisher wanted Jake as the starter, but the collective brain-trust of Coach Bowden and some higher-ups at the university pressured Coach Fisher and his staff to start Jaboo instead.
