We have won championships with AJ and Greg at QB. Coker has a so much higher ceiling than them. If it clicks for him during the middle of the season, we will hoist another crystal ball.

Cam couldnt beat out Tebow but he progressed to be a much better QB.

I just feel bad for the defenses he gets to face this year...it will be like Varsity against Jr high.

Not only is Coker a Heisman type talent, he has one of the best offensive minds this game has ever seen coaching him at Offensive Coordinator.
Coker + Kiffin = SECW is screwed.

Coker sux becuz he couldn't beat out Jameis and his highlight tape isn't great.
He's an unknown. We only have to go off A) what we want to believe (bama fan = he'll be great..everyone else = he'll suck)
B) what those at Florida state had to say. Fans and coaches alike will tell you every time they're asked that he's a first round talent, but if we revert back to point A we realize that's not what everyone wants to hear. The auburn fans here seem to be particularly terrified, perhaps it's because they've had success with the transfer quarterbacks and feel as though it's only right that auburn can accomplish this.
News flash, bama is competing for a title with or without Jacob Coker, because we simply have more talent from top to bottom than the rest of you, and we have a better coach than the rest of you.
It's too early to fret now though, save all that for September

I feel bad for those defenses as well. They will have a false sense of self worth after intercepting all of those Coker passes only to be let down again the next week against better competition.

My thoughts are:
If Coker was so good and neck & neck with Winston during the QB competition, why then during all the controversy with Winston did FSU not sit Winston for Coker just to be on the safe side?

Because it's not completely true. Of course a coach is gonna put in a good word for one of his players. He might turn out to be a good QB but you can take what Jimbo says with a grain of salt.
