Genuinely? I don't know how much LSU was even involved in this. This board just assumes that.

You caved because you were about to get kicked out of the conference and lose the federal lawsuit.

But congratulations on your bad press and being the poster boy for everything wrong with college sports. All the drama and who knows what other consequences just so you could gain nothing.

And you stupid fricks still act like you won something? That's fricking amazing.

Seems like he owes an apology to these two players if they don’t end up playing
and you know this hasn't happened? They are with the team, I'm sure it's been talked about daily and no doubt he shared with them his exact reasoning

How did he make Tennessee better?

They were just a better team the year he was there vs the year prior, the efficiency rankings bear that out. They jumped like 20 spots.

He is not a great legendary outstanding type coach that everyone makes him out to be.

I don't think he's legendary.

He will lose a couple a games a year he should have won. That’s what his record says he is.

That's literally any coach.

You folks are in total denial about this guy. He is not Nick Saban. He is closer to BK.

I'm not sure how I can be in denial if I actually agree he's not Nick Saban.

Do you think Saban would have sent him packing just days before a title game if he really wanted him around?

If Saban really wanted him gone that badly, he would've just fired him. He wouldn't have waited around until Kiffin found another job.

This board has really not been well the past two weeks.

A lot of posters need to take a break.

Look, it's clear you're stuck on your little narrative and can't actually see past it.

Apologize to Brother Lane, you're dismissed.

Bottom line is there’s not one lsu poster to say it’s stupid and not worth it. Y’all are the glaring examples of sunk cost.
it's the exact opposite of sunk cost fallacy. They quite literally 'gave up' (for now) after determining the 'cost'

That's the problem, we still really don't know the cost or if there even is a cost.

Genuine question for LSU fans. Was this all worth it? Is Lane worth all this for you guys?

Worth what exactly? A players lawsuit against the rules? There’s literally hundreds of those across the country.

you know they dont know what that means
apparently y'all don't know what it means. The cost was not established and still isn't. Lane was waiting for an ROI and tonight he gave in at the CHANCE that it could be a negative ROI

Saban allowed him to stay because he told Saban he could handle both jobs. He obviously couldn’t.

A lot of LSU fans on here believe their own BS about the guy. He is the Savior of LSU football. He hasn’t even coached one game and LSU has become a circus. For what he has done in his career he is not worth the disruption he causes.

I mean this band of clowns and simpletons has been insisting for a week that Brother Lane would play NFL players, despite his promise that he'd abide by SEC rules.

They aren't exactly scholars.

Sure, but he was only "fired" after he was moving on anyway. It isn't like Saban just fired him for doing a bad job. He was leaving for a head coaching job.

You’re being extremely dramatic lol. LSU wasn’t the first or the last suit. You are grossly misinformed.

It’s about him putting himself before the team. He asked those players that year to give him 100% effort and not quit. At least he could have done is gave them the same effort right before the biggest game of the year. We are talking about doing this before a national title game now you do realize this? He couldn’t help but put himself before those players that worked hard for him all year. He wouldn’t have got that job if those guys didn’t work hard for him. Then he gives them 50% when they needed him to be fully checked in?
