lol what? Auburns DBs blanketted our WRs almost every play. What game did YOU watch?

Bama's defense played well enough to win.

Every team in the country Defense keys board includes holding the opponent to less than 14 points. They gave up 26, which would have been 27. And could have been another 6-10 except for a red zone fumble and the world's worst officiating job in history.

So, NO, the defense didn't play well enough to win.

Pretty sure this isn't true. We just have a QB that couldn't take advantage. Jerry Jeudy ran free all night.

Is it safe to say that average is inflated due to the opening drive after halftime?
Why do people do this? Sure, that's safe to say. We pretty much only ran them on that drive.

That's the entire point

I recall one play where Jeudy broke free deep, but every other time they showed the downfield footage, I don't remember seeing anyone just running free. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm not watching it again to see.

I'm sure I'm exaggerating, but, I too don't feel any need to re-examine.

Some Aub said it, so I was just repeating it because I'm piling on our beleaguered QB

Jeudy was free on one play where Hurts was locked onto Ridley and threw an incomplete, but beyond that (and what was maybe a push off in the end zone) Auburn generally plays very physical against opposing WRs. Pretty sure we deliberately PI'd one deep route as well.

I didn't understand the passing play designs. There were no slants or crossing routes. We either ran the ball or threw intermediate to long routes, which is Hurt's weakness. There were hardly any "easy" throws for him.
On the other side. Stidham made a living on the short throws then hit some intermediate. That was an impressive game plan by Auby.

They ran the ball other times with minimal success. Never saw a run over 5 yards other than that TD drive. Most were 0-3 yards.

I may be wrong though.
