You play to win the game because there's a very good chance UGA wins the SEC championship. In that case, the loser this weekend doesn't make it in unless the winner this weekend slips up before the SECCG and goes into that game with a loss.

Bruh, outside of pitiful trolling, Bama doesn't want to sit home and watch LSU play Georgia for a championship. Winning the SEC is very big deal and a source of pride. Not to mention the virtual auto-bid to the playoffs. Last but not least, we take pride in owning LSU so we certainly won't go give less than 110% Saturday.

All the people calling for 6, 8, 12 teams I hope you're ready for this past weekend's WLOCP and this weekend's game to lose nearly all its luster.
Not just have regular season games lost luster, conference championships are all of a sudden, pretty much meaningless.
To bring luster and meaning back to the regular season, you need to have conference championships mean something. One way to do that would be to require only conference champions to play in the playoffs.
And please spare me the, "not only conferences are created equally" argument, because it is irrelevant.

But to answer your question it’s bc we may not get the rematch this time.

Bama & LSU control their own Destiny. I’ll give BDS 3 points & the refs 10 in Tide points. So, LSU is down 13-0 before kickoff. I don’t see how they have enough offense to overcome that deficit in 4 quarters.

There are only two teams in the Super Bowl. The AFC winner, and the NFC winner.
