He did. He signed an affidavit related to the case in question strongly opposed to him winning and behind the scenes made it clear to Bama they needed to back down which they did regardless of how the case was resolved.

Did he threaten to fine Alabama half their revenue, suspend their coach half the season, and kick them out of the SEC? No, he just said he didn't agree with it and let it play out through the court. And no, Alabama did not back down. They played him until the court said he wasn't eligible.
Kiffin never rostered these two players yet Sankey continues to throw gasoline on the situation.

All of this is happening because after being told not to pursue pro players yall enticed players to file suit against the NCAA and the league so now a rule with clearly delineated consequences is in place and a federal suit is ongoing.
Why? To show LSU and every other school that they can’t go rogue, that the SEC ultimately gets to make rules and enforce punishments regardless of what the local alumni judges say and that the alternative is to GTFO of the conference all together.
Follow the rules or you won’t be a member any more.
And again, I would crush Ole Miss, Missouri and anyone else who just played those players so it’s not an LSU thing, it’s a rules enforcement thing.

Sorry no I misspoke.
LSU did not play those players which is why I’m not in favor of applying the penalties to you for that, but am for OM, Missouri and anyone else economically.
I am in favor of consequences not including expulsion for conspiring to have players sue the conference. That can’t happen ever.

wtf are you even talking about? The SEC didn't comment on it until after the players sued and got a TRO. Why don't you point me to anywhere where Sankey or the SEC released a statement about rostering pro players before those players go an injunction 2 weeks ago
The SEC's reaction to this has been far different than their reaction was to NBA players getting injunctions and actually playing. That's not even arguable.

None of this happened until after the lawsuit was as filed.

There are several programs actively breaking SEC rules each weekend. LSU isn’t one of them.

Vandy broke SEC rules for the entire 2025 season. Still waiting on their punishment.

Every school was told behind the scenes not to do this.
The SEC will have to prove that LSU did what they said they did, I don’t have that evidence and can’t speak to it.
