Theory on why Spurrier chose today

This is coming from me. And it's JUST a theory. I believe he did it to deflect Garcia, and failed. But this is food for thought.
What if he chose today because of Garcia after all? Showing that he's willing to work with his players, just like he did with Shaw and Garcia? It could be a "I'm willing to work with you if you're willing to work with me" approach.
And the Ellington/Morris debacle was just a more recent example?
Like I said, just speculation, but this isn't the first time Morris has fabricated stories about SC players.

I thought it was deflection away from Garcia, FWIW

He's just getting in his licks before he rides into the sunset in Dec.

Don't get me wrong, this is the more logical answer. But we don't know what is REALLY going on.

I think he just got word from the NCAA that they are now looking into Ellington's recruitment based on Ron's Article.
I think there has to be some kind of reason because just looking at it, he should have done this a while ago.

regardless of whether or not a reporter is fabricating stories, it's better to simply ignore and move on.
Remember "I'm A Man IM FORTY?"... sometimes it's just better to take the high road and not come across as a fool.

CNB let it go bro. I'm sad about Garcia too, but the fact is he isn't coming back from this. Just take pride in the fact your school had the most reckless student athlete in college football history that gave zero fricks about any sort of consequences for his partying. I feel like there will never be another Stephen Garcia in college football.

I'm...not upset about Garcia being gone.

The only negative about it is our lack of experienced depth at QB.

I think he did it to deflect and I beat there was other reasons involved. He had Ellington address it in the first week 1 Tuesday press conference also.

ya i remember that.
He had Ellington say, "i wanted to play football" or something like that.
I just feel that all the sudden like this, something now has to be up.

He chose today to take the pressure off of Jordan Jefferson.
