representin double digits in something is cool.

You could almost put an asterick on close to 250 of Alabama's 809 wins while LSU's 700+ wins are never in questioned.
But ya can't, and 799 is still way better than 700.

I thought it was 10-13.

These things, you should be proud of and I take nothing away from that. But to try to denegrate Bama's success in football is just plain stupid and makes you look stupid. Just like it would be stupid for me not to recognize that Lsu has had extremely successful times in other sports.

Top 10 is usually the standard. Top Dozen, not bad either. Top 25 waters down the elite.

LSU is in a unique group that cheating is NEVER mentioned when discussing our FB history.

Funny.....LM has proven what he could do with 1 DC at the helm, he will have that in 2009.

It's like choosing between the AP, UPI, Coaches, or BCS. LSU's #10 ranking by CFBW is probably the standard and that's the one I'm using.

Alabama is the standard of Southern football, if not the nation with ND and Michigan. With that said, I like LSU football and sports just the way it is and wouldn't trade anything with anyone. We are LSU.

I know this sounds crzy and will piss off many other LSU fans but there is a difference.

I promise you this is not a slam on my beloved Tigers or the state, just my opinion.

I have lived in both states for long periods of time and have observed a difference. Heart.

Now I am not saying LSU players have no heart but there is a difference. Maybe because of the long tradition or maybe its genetic. LOL I dont know! But there is one!

Players in Bama consider it an honor to play for Bama. Even the 4 and 5 star recruits. They feel its a honor that they get a chance to wear that crimson uniform no matter who they are.

At LSU, most of the time we are lucky to convince that 5 star recruit to stay in state and play at LSU.

Becauase of this traadition the Bama players feel it is a heavy responsibility and they must preform no matter what. The weight of the states honor is on them. Pretty country redneck mindset but it shows up on the field. They wont be bullied around by LSU, even in our dominant days of recent. They werent timid in "opening a can or taking a "asswhopin" one from us. They always showed up. You can beat Bama but you will have to do it. They arent laying down.

With LSU, our star feels LSU is lucky he is there for a couple of years before he goes pro and becomes the next Michael Irvin. First sign of loss and our guys stop showing up. In RJF's case, literally!! Talk alot of smack and and about "what dey gonna do!"

You even see it in the everyday people.

Hurricanes slams state, Alabama people rebuild, La people wait for help.

Its a totally different mentality in Alabama period. It has its backwoods redneck part but there is also a very proud part that does not take losing or being lazy very well.

There is no Joie de vivre. Just work hard and be a man and you might be rewarded one day.

Again, not meant as a slam but just my opinion from my own experiences living with both people and in both states.

BUT with all that being said, I would still rather be a Tiger and I pray we turn this thing around before its too late.

I don't have the perspective of having lived in La. so I can't comment on that. I think you summed up the Alabama side quite well. I think with continued sustained success, that you instate guys will also be like that. It takes a long time to build up a fanbase with the mentality that winning should be expected no matter what. That makes folks sound delusional, but the high expectations breed success. Unfortunately, they accounted for our worst decade in history also. But, hopefully that won't ever be repeated.

Well, youae rght about some things.

1) it does sound crazy.
2) it will piss alot of people off.
3) it is totally opinion based and not verifiable by fact.

I disagree on many fronts.

Sorry, but you are way out of line here. You can't compare what happened to New Orleans to anything that happened in Alabama. Are you fricken serious? Besides a metropolitan area of 1.5 million people getting hit and 450,000 homeless at some point in time, even if the people of NO were willing to rebuild the next day, THEY COULDN'T. FEMA guidelines and standards among other things were/are preventing these people to rebuild, not to mention the cost, in which many lost EVERYTHING. Many were in helpless situations and some still are. Take NO out of the equation then it's a whole different situation.
