he was clearly sober and trying to tell everyone what he thought about drinking
and no i realize how dumb i was, i do remember mack brown and so i deserve to be mocked for that mix up.
and yes dammit i remember that run i was there. but at that point i already gave up on the defense and we half expected it albeit not that fast.

It's difficult to not be hard on him. He was the consensus #1 HS player in the Nation that year, I believe. What a damn bust.

Did he ever say anything about that incident? I was embarrassed for him but he may not have given it another thought.

and to answer your question richt basically said the game got the best of him and he told grantham to apologize in which he did. it was one of those situations like when the mom brings the kid by the ear to the neighbors and makes him do a half arse apology. at that point richt and his brethren were worrying more about their job security
