I thought it was because you had to play florida every year.

Right. That's why greasing up the glory bush with vagisil and hacking away like a certain crew on TD makes no sense to me. Nor does doing a Kevin Bacon "all is well" make any sense. I'll not be on that Fire Miles deal, I've seen enough to know how that crapshoot usually works out. Like I said in OP: "3) A strong finish (a bowl win is critical, to reverse the current trend) would set the stage to take a good run at in 2014" is at hand. Looking forward to seeing how it goes.

Quite, they are GSC champions.

I disagree. TAF won't let him stay that long unless he rights the ship. I wouldn't be surprised if there is some sort of rainy day fund being put together to buy him out if needed. He most certainly shouldn't get any more contract extensions or raises anytime soon. If the TAF big wigs lose confidence in him, his days will be numbered. I don't think they will permit the program to return to the mediocrity of the past.

If this is correct then this is really good news for the Tigahs going forward.

I know where we are, but shite, there's plenty of other threads for this fricking stuff.

I think just improving our coaches on O-Line and DB would help

Regarding our DB's I don't know if it's a talent issue or teaching but one thing for sure...too many blown assignments, which is coaching.

If you'll allow me to play devil's advocate, blown assignments sometimes can be a sign of misplaced talent.

I think I understand what you're saying. If the guys aren't capable of doing what they are asked , then the scheme has to be adjusted by the coaches to their abilities, no? What I've noticed about this D is that we are not nearly as fast as 2012, 2011, 2010. Maybe it's a combination of both, dunno.

Exactly what I was getting at. I liken y'all's problems on D (justly or unjustly) to the problems A&M has had this year. Our talent is improving, but it's so very young that even when Snyder draws up a great scheme, they get excited and blow it, have bad eyes trying to make a play, overpursue, etc.

I've noticed that as well.
Do you anticipate that Chavis will try to use a similar philosophy to shackle the Aggie offense next week as he did last year? Or do you think y'all don't have the horses to do it and will have to go a different direction?

JFF is going to score so often his arm is going to get tired. Our best D is to run Copelean/Hill 40 times, and take our time doing it.
Speed wise not even remotely. This game will not resemble last years game at all, imo.

Until the 4th & 28 call I did not believe in the decline. Now after that absolutely dangerous and stupid play I believe it.
What Coach in their right damn mind would put their starting quarter back in danger just because of their own ego?? This is a serious problem and Miles has horrible judgement and has been living on past glories.

This scares the frick out of me. Pretty sure all but one or two teams had their best rushing outings to date against our defense.
Seeing us stack 9 in the box against Auburn and them still convert 3rd and short for a 1st down was all I needed to see, unfortunately.
