It's going to happen more now that there's a tournament at the end of the season. Only one of the top 12 teams is going to end the season with a win.

I'd argue the opposite. Parity is good for competition.

Who the frick did Georgia beat? Please. Some of you guys are either young and retarded and just trolling.

LSU had a great win to open the season.

Marshall as an opener is basically a gimme and no one cared

And most of Georgias losses in the last 4 years have come in championship and play off games.

It may be good for competition. But when 50% of starting quarterbacks are in their first season at a school do you think they understand the offense as well as a guy who has been practicing it three years?

Do you think all these guys who are switching teams every season for better offers are going to lay it out there like a Jacob Hester or Marcus Lattimore? Or are business decisions being made?

Everyone has been a dick to me saying this is sour apples. And it is sour apples. But not for the reason they are saying. It is because college football is not the college football I grew up with. It is NFL lite. I don’t feel any emotion about the NFL like I do college football. And the last few seasons, having to watch the waiver wire (portal) and seeing these multi million dollar NIL deals has soured me. I listened to the Tennessee game on the radio last year. That was the first Tennessee game I hadn’t watched wire to wire in 20+ years.

And I know I am not the only one, there have been tons of others to say something similar here the last few years. I have been beating the drum for years that college football has become all about money. And that it was going to price the blue collar fan that made it what it is out of the game.

But the NFL is the most popular sport in the country. Now we get to have the same thing in the SEC.

Now y’all can flame away.

This whole thread is saying there is more parity in college football. That is the point.

As a gotcha, you dig up an old post of mine where I said there is more parity.

Do you disagree that the bottom half of the league is more competitive? Because that seems to be what you are saying.

It does.

But not as much as losing to Alabama this season would for LSU fans.

That would be apocalyptic.

LSU will surely beat Alabama. Surely.

Yes. Exactly.

You realize that if you are on the 14th floor of a building and someone on the 1st floor takes the elevator to the 15th floor, you didn’t go down. But they are now higher than you. Can you wrap your brain around that?

The SEC is still competitive. But the Big 10 seems to have taken the elevator up a few floors.

Something has ended SEC dominance. I think it is the portal.

You realize the SEC has not won a national championship in two years. Do you know the last 5 year span when the SEC didn’t win 3 or more of the national titles? If you count Texas and Oklahoma it was 1992-1997. If you don’t, it was 1998-2002. The SEC is on the clock.

The Big Ten has won the last two national titles. The last time that happened was 1965-1966.

The whole reason super conferences and a 12 team play off came to be was that the SEC spent 20 years deep dicking every other conference and the other conferences said enough. The Pac-12 went along because they didn’t realize it would kill them. The Big 12 was onboard, and then lost their two lead horses.

But argue away.

There's no argument needed.

It's hilarious watching you go from talking shite all offseason to now desperately flailing about.

Alabama under Saban: we’re burning trailers and killing each other if we don’t win the championship

Alabama under DeBoer: hey maybe we’ll beat LSU

I do expect LSU to drop a game or two. Maybe Bammers will feel better about DeBoer if he beats LSU, it seemed to work last year.

Any LSU fan that thinks otherwise is a sunshine pumper

It’s funny as hell watching Bama fans’ standards fall though
