Does that type of tackling need to be a penalty like targeting? Yes, the way he was tackled is why his leg was broken. Defensive played grabbed his shoulder pads and then fell backwards. Seems similar to the horse collar tackle.

Yes, we need more ultra-subjective rules that take the physicality out of a sport designed around physicality.

It was horrible. No one ever wants to see a player injured, but what do you want football to be?

I get it and things happen... but tackling up high and falling backwards? But by your response, you think the horse collar tackle should be legal.

I dont see that. Defensive player grabbed him around waist/arms and fell on Travis leg sideways as the two were spinning on their way down.

Below is the video I saw. Make your own judgement.

Majority of people here won't see 2035... but that picture is for a different sport.

The NFL is talking about it as well. Mark Andrews is now out for the season after being tackled the same way.

But you tough guys that never played past peewee are right.

It's the high risk you run with a running QB.
FSU was playing a cupcake.
There was zero reason for him to be running like that.
Any QB who becomes a running back, should go down safely on contact. They don't have to slide; just go down carefully with emphasis on taking care of himself and the football.
