Both teams played well. A close game with extra innings. A good pair on the call with Baker and Peterson, who is the best college commentator in the business.

The umpiring was bad, to put it plainly. And it's something the SEC needs to address.

But overall, I really think todays game has helped elevate the leagues profile a little bit and elevated the profile of college baseball a little bit.

I don't want to overstate the importance of the game, because I don't think it was all that important to either team as far as making or breaking their season. But from a league standpoint, and sport standpoint, this game lived up to its billing and that's a good thing.

Watching the ACC title game today and following it up with the SEC final, we are truly a spoiled 14 fanbases...the unc-va tech game looked like a high school game in comparison to the vandy-lsu matchup

Yea hard to really improve the leagues profile baseball-wise, but it certainly helped solidify it. Enjoyable game.

It's not just umpires. The officiating in every sport is not on par with the level of competition on the fields/court. The SEC needs to seriously address it ASAP.

Yep. I have had the misfortune of watching some other conference tourneys this week (Big12 and ACC) and those teams just give up way too many runs. I see a lot of these teams shutting down when they face the pitching we have in the SEC.

pitching wins championships. if 2 of these 3 (lsu, vandy, ark) don't make it to Omaha i'd be stunned.

I agree. It was a very competitiv and entertaining game. I watched a little of the osu / indiana game for a few innings the other night and had to turn it. It was rough.
