Obviously the bigger the SEC has become, you have differing views from membership. The SEC worked because you had like minded schools that shared common goals. Today, everyone just wants their piece of the pie and damn the torpedos - it's win at all costs. And I realize it's always been that way but in the past you always had that healthy respect for your peers. I really think Texas and Aggies will destroy this conference as we know it.
SEC commissioner Greg Sankey acknowledged that some schools within the conference have discussed the possibility of breaking away from the NCAA. While this hardly seems noteworthy these days, he made it clear that he does not believe that is the right path for college athletics.
With the amount of money you guys just spent to get kiffen you think just Texas and A&M want to "win at all costs"? This is some priceless irony right here folks.

didn't you guys just steal a "peer" coach from a team entering the playoffs? that's respect?

Seems they have jumped the shark or thrown the baby out with the bathwater
I see no way forward for the lesser sports with football revenue being consumed by of all things, the football program.

Mizzou flirting with the Big Ten
Mizzou virtually begged to join the Big Ten for decades. They just could not come to terms with the fact that the Big Ten did not want them. Neither did the SEC.
When Texas A&M joined we needed another team to even things out. Everyone assumed it would be Virginia Tech, but they had spent so much political capital to get into the ACC that they had to stay put. Mizzou got into the SEC by default.

Texas and Oklahoma would have gone to the Big Ten had Sankey and the SEC said no. The TV contract that the Big Ten would have gotten with those 2 schools would have dwarfed the contract that the SEC would have without them. Sankey and the SEC recognized that and made the obvious choice despite all the whining from College Station. A&M could not, and did not deliver the TV sets in the State of Texas when they joined the SEC, adding Texas did.

The Intercollegiate Athletic Association is already well underway in planning.
The only thing holding it up is media rights and contracts, but it is inevitable. Not every Big 10 or SEC school will make the cut because they want to keep it to no more than 32 members and there will be other schools included (FSU, ND, Miami, Clemson).
It will be an NFL/NBA-style league and playoff system.
