The SEC isn't down. QB is the most important position in team sports and the SEC loaded an unprecedented amount of QB talent to the NFL. Ole Miss, Missouri and LSU had QBs return, thus good seasons.

The SEC wasn't down, the big brand SEC schools lost NFL QB talent at the same time.

Saban has lost his fastball.

He's just one of several elite coaches instead of the head and shoulders GOAT.

In my opinion, his fastball was he could always hire elite assistants. Mel Tucker, Kirby, Sark, Jimbo, Muschamp, Pruitt, Cristobal, Brent Key, Bo Davis, Bobby Williams, Kiffin, Sal Sunseri, Pendry, Cignetti, Burton Burns, Scott Cochran, etc. Bama doesn't have assistant coaches on the level of these guys. It's about time fans get some real football knowledge and recognize the importance of the assistant coaches.
