Kentucky is a basketball school.
State is a football school.
Vandy is a baseball school.

The only illiterate I’ve seen in this thread is you. You’re so bad you quoted something and still couldn’t comprehend it.

[img]This statement really makes me question how much football you follow though...

That's because you're not a very sophisticated CFB fan.

ATM won the Big 12 in their 3rd year in the conference in 1998. In 1980 they were a rent a win team for UGA. Missouri was LOUSY when the Big 12 started....horribly bad. A pretty good example of how the Big 12 is chock bock full of lousy teams every year. Neither has sniffed a SEC Championship. ATM won a Big 12 championship.
You don't consider winning the SEC East in year 2 and 3 as sniffing a conference championship? I mean, they were in the actual, literal, real-life championship game. They didn't win it, obviously, but being in it I think characterizes "sniffing it".
But to the larger point, and since I'm OP let me again clarify, NOBODY thinks Texas/OU is going to walk into the SEC and bend over UGA and Bama and cake-walk through LSU/Florida/Georgia when they get good again.
But also NOBODY is scared of or has anything but a "bless their heart" respect for the ankle-biters in this conference who aren't any better than the ankle-biters of any other conferences and who sadly, unless rules change, going to be forever damned to insignificance due to NIL/FreeAgency Portal.
They can blame Texas for ruining their fun and another conference I guess, when the parity is gone. Sorry Arkansas, Miss. St., USC, Mizzou, Vandy, and even Ole Miss.

It's laughable you think State is a football school. But, that's not as funny as your point apparently being, "in the Big 12 Texas loses in the last three games to basketball schools, and in the SEC the grind will cause Texas to lose to a basketball and baseball school in the last three games."
Call it a day and go take your nap kid.

I don't think this stat is really helping your argument lol
I think this may underscore the point:
The 247 2023 composite talent ranking has the 4th B12 team coming in at #40, while the 13th SEC team comes in at #32.
Also...

CONFERENCE SUPERIORITY The SEC leads the way with six teams. The Big Ten is next, with three. The ACC has two, the Big 12 has two, and the Pac-12 does as well. The Group of 5 has zero, and nobody close.
247 blue-chip ratio

Just in case you missed it, and I’ll keep saying it, we are 5-2 vs y’all since we joined the SEC. Maybe as a member you will be able to step up your game as well by playing in the nation’s most elite conference. So there is no real reason for you to feel sorry for us.

says the guy that thinks the Big 12 is on par with the SEC. Find the most knowledgeable cfb fan you can and ask if he thinks playing an sec conference schedule is equal to playing a big 12 conference schedule and get back to me

What’s even more laughable is how you’re bragging about losing the last few games of the season for the last 8 years during a period of dogshit Texas football and trying to somehow translate that to SEC play….especially since Texas IS BACK BABY!!

Well my Texas friend let me give you an example. In the year Alabama didn’t win the SEC West but won the national championship, they had to play LSU, Miss State and Auburn almost in a row. They were all big physical top 25 teams. They barely beat LSU, should have lost to Miss State and got trashed by Auburn. However Auburn lost their key running back and a few starters and get trashed by Georgia in the SEC Championship game. Those two teams eventually meet in the Natty which Georgia lost.
So the eventual national champion couldn’t run the SEC gauntlet. We injure people and people get hurt in this league. Sometimes intentionally. (Seems like you Texans would know that by now)
Don’t talk shite until you played the games.

The last thing I want to point out in this thread is that IN THE SEC…..not throughout all of CFB…..there are a lot of under the radar teams such as currently State, Auburn, Florida, S Carolina….that are close to being that team to disrupt even for just one season.
Hell I’m convinced that Scar would’ve won the SEC while under Spurrier had Stephen Garcia been able to blow less than a 0.5 at game time one of those years.

Where does this narrative come from?
Remember when y’all got y’all’s arse beat 44-23 by Ole Miss in Austin? That team went 8-5 and finished in 6th place in the SEC West. You’re just lucky there aren’t divisions anymore.

On the East Coast, football is a cultural experience. In the Midwest, it's a form of cannibalism. On the West Coast, it's a tourist attraction. And in the South, football is a religion, and Saturday is the holy day.

Look out motherfrickers, MSU just walked in the door. They played in the SEC title game that one time a quarter century ago, so watch your step. They might jump up and beat you and ruin your season like Oklahoma State or NC State or Washington State or Iowa.

That line of thinking reminds me of New Orleans in 2004.
