That place is such an embarrassment.

Seems like every fanbase here has another site that never fails to bring dishonor to the cause

I noticed that thread was recently posted in and went to see what was being said, saw it was 19 pages long and quickly abandoned thread to come back here
I visit over there because the population is much larger than the USC board here so info gets posted there quicker, particularly recruiting info.
Unfortunately you have to sift through a bunch of shite-tastic posts in each individual recruits thread, most of which is just rehashing an argument in another thread and completely irrelevant to the recruit that the thread is supposed to be about

We went to yell practice in 2012. It was, and still is, the most awkward hour I've ever experienced at a CFB related event.

If a Texan wants culture, he damn sure isn't going to look for it in Louisiana.
Tell that to the gazillion Texans I see cruising around New Orleans on a daily basis.

Could easily swap "Texans," for "Louisianans," and "New Orleans," for "Houston."

The ones in Houston are just stuck in traffic.

Thoughts and prayers for them. Houston traffic scares the tar outta me to this day

I can't wait to watch the Gamecocks beat the hell out of A&M. It will be a lot like A&M @ LSU last year.

Yeah yeah, we know, you hate aggy

I'm not crazy about a bunch of A&M cadets stomping around on the deck and steps in front of our Statehouse underneath that Confederate flag.
We're sort of particular about our Statehouse grounds. It survived Sherman and his army, took a lot of direct hits and being put to the torch and still stands today as the most honorable of all the old Confederate state buildings.
There will be people there, people who are probably not even Gamecock fans mixed-in, who are not going to like having a foreign army on those sacred steps and patio. It's just not cool. I'm sort of surprised that Nicki Haley is allowing it. She's getting some feedback that may cause her to encourage those cadets to look for a different place to stomp around.
Carolina fans have never even allowed the taterheads to show their asses in front of that capital building. It once almost came to a shooting war where swords were drawn in front of that statehouse over a football game.

It won't be a march-in, nor is it a Corps trip, so no worries. Also, most Ags want nothing to do with that flag

If we can rally on the steps of the state capitol in Austin, y'all are no different. We're crazy, but we ain't roustabouts hellbent on defacing surrounding property.
And again, it ain't a Corps trip

Austin is your state capital though Amigo. Columbia, SC is not.
The taterheads tried rallying there before a football game in 1906 I think it was ... and it didn't end well. There was such a bloody riot that our game was cancelled for a few years.
No other SEC team would even think about doing such a thing. It's just not done here in the South. Too much symbolism in the act ... like a takeover. It's disrespectful.
I know there is an up-swelling against it ... I'll be surprised if Nicki Haley allows it to happen in those steps. The moment the rah rah A&M stuff starts, someone will not appreciate it.
Now, if Rick Perry shows-up and Nicki Haley and he are up there together and doing it tastefully and extolling the potential for the series to turn into a good-natured rivalry, then that's another story.

Irrelevant. The point is it's a notable landmark in a road venue.

We ain't taterheads, nor are we roustabouts. We have a very good reputation both as visitors and hosts, internet slams be damned.

We're unique.

We ain't Southern. Thank God.

I think it will be exactly that--a good natured rivalry.
We come in peace*

I don't think that flag represents what you think it represents ... but if you were to head about ten blocks northwest of the capital and visit our Confederate cemetery where 5,509 Confederate soldiers are buried you might understand a little better.
Regardless, there are far better places for opposing fans to hold a rally other than on our statehouse grounds.
And oh, I've seen just as many Confederate flags flying in Texas as I have in SC.
