Wow, this is so absurd I'm not quite sure if serious...

How do the officials know where to spot the ball after an incomplete pass?

Isn't that the point of the game? Every offensive play outside of the QB sneak involves some element that is supposed to confuse the defense.

To an extent, yes. But the game suffers when chains aren't set properly, or a call is missed because an official is out of place.

ETA: Also, I believe both teams should be allowed to substitute after every play if they wish. Otherwise, football will turn into nothing more than fitness contests.
