He doesn't get it ... he's blind to reality.

What I think, IMHO, is what most fans of other programs on the outside looking in are unwilling to admit, or even accept for that matter, is the fact that the proverbial culture has changed here at South Carolina. It began under Lou Holtz and Spurrier has only made it better. Expectations have been raised. We're not going backwards. Still yet, I'd never expect most UGA or Clemson fans to ever admit that fact or face the reality of it quite honestly.

very well put scrooster. holtz created a culture of winning and expecting to compete. Spurrier has effectively built on that to create a situation where 10-11 win seasons and the accompanying top ten finishes are realistic goals. those 2 guys have been around the block a few times and understand what it takes to build a sustainable program.

After being under .500 for a century 41 wins in 4 seasons in the SEC has been quite a ride. As good as SC has been the last 4 years at no point has SC been National Championship quality so not winning the SEC is not that big of a miss. SC has 5-10 players every year that could start for practically anyone in the conference to get to the top you have to have 15-20. SC isn't there yet but the scary part is SC can get better. 2 NYD bowl wins, 5 straight Clemson beatdowns, winning record against UGA/UF/UT, snapping Bama 18 game win streak and beating them when they were #1 have been a pretty cool consolation prize!

Thank you. I remember it like it was yesterday when Lou got here he said the first thing he had to do was change our culture. He used the word culture. And he was familiar with our culture because he got his start here. And he did what he set-out to do in the face over overwhelming odds considering where Fat Bradstard Scott left us and the losing streak.

Spurrier would have never come here had Lou not turned our culture around ... Lou doesn't get enough credit some times.

We've been fortunate to have those two coaches back-to-back, no doubt about it.
