No that was all Boren, he was OU's president at the time, but as former Oklahoma Senator and Governor, he had strong ties to little brother, and he would not go without them.

OU played Ohio St. in 16/17, Notre Dame in 13/14, Florida State in 10/11 too
OU had LSU in the schedule for this year and next year but they cancelled.

You did because in the SEC you can celebrate the success of Alabama and LSU and you have built in excuses for all of your losses.
You certainly weren't winning Big 12 titles. I guess from the perspective of a perennial middle tier team, losing in the SEC is better than losing in the Big 12. Just following Arkansas' lead.

Meanwhile, LSU has scheduled Syracuse, Wisconsin, BYU, Miami, and texsa for their OOC games over the last few years cuz those are juggernauts.

Listen, every single loss we have had against SEC teams were against the SEC champion. Have we been SEC championship level the last few years? No. I have never claimed we have been.
Unlike A&M, we will be leaving the Big 12 after dominating that conference. That is something A&M will never be able to say. Their last and only B12 title was in the '90s for goodness sakes.
A&M was absolutely looking to mix things up after not being competitive in the Big 12. We are leaving after dominating the Big 12. That is a huge difference.

The Red River Rivalry is very important to both OU and UT fans. I'll be the first to say I didn't want to do anything that jeopardized that rivalry. Sometimes that takes sacrifices.
You guys have all of your little fake manufactured traditions but were willing to throw away your one true time honored tradition (the game against UT) mainly because that tradition reminded you that you are and will always be the little brother.

This happens every year. OU will probably lose a regular season game and then they will end up winning the big 12 and get in. They get the benefit of the doubt every year
I get that...but doesn't Clemson get the benefit of the doubt, too? Outside of Clemson playing Georgia, Oklahoma plays a tougher schedule. I mean, Clemson will play one tough game all year and got beat in it. Considering the number of injuries Georgia had (3 of our top 4 WRs, top TE, starting Guard....and now we know Daniels was injured and couldn't throw the ball downfield) we dominated Clemson.
