What we would be so bad about Payne? Guy could end up being a good coach and also has connections for good recruiting.

He has never been a HC, he is not even the top ast at either of the two schools he has coached at.
He can recruit his balls off, but my worry is if he can draw up plays run an offense and control the egoes of the players on our team.

I guess I should have replied to Bundy I just clicked under your post... He seems to think hiring Payne would be the end of the world.

Kentucky barely has an offense and it's light years ahead of stansbury's.

To be fair, Kentucky has elite level players. I could coach those guys and they would still put up big numbers.
This and offense was not our problem this year. Our defense was what cost us games. I actually think this year our half court sets were the best I'd ever seen under Stans.

statistically, offense was not our problem. Defense was. However, having a shitty offense lost us some games down the stretch. Everyone thought it was the Stansbury stall but it was actually just ignorant coaching.

I would agree. And they still sucked. Stansbury made a conscious effort to have a more disciplined, organized offense this year. And it was easy to tell that he was making that effort. Only problem is that he doesn't know how to do that.

New candidate. Richard Pitino. Rick's son. Currently an ast at Louisville has also worked at Florida. Only 29 years old though.
