Well, I think you if you do not go after Prohem, then you will settle for second fiddle coaches.

Groce > Prohm

He has experience at Butler, NC State, Xavier, and Ohio State.

He has won 29 games this year and taken Ohio U to the NCAA tourney twice in 3 years.

Hair or no hair, just read about this guy. He is a winner.

Groce (pronounced Gross) has reached the postseason 13 times in his 14 years on the collegiate sidelines. He has helped guide teams to a Final Four, two Elite Eights, a National Invitation Tournament championship and multiple conference titles.

Prior to his arrival in Athens, Groce spent four seasons on staff at Ohio State, the final two as associate head coach. During his tenure, he helped the Buckeyes to 105 victories, including a school-record 35 wins in 2006-07, a pair of outright Big Ten regular-season titles, two NCAA Tournament appearances, a berth in the 2007 NCAA National Championship game and the 2008 NIT title.

Groce was also heavily involved in recruiting at Ohio State and played a vital role in bringing the likes of Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Jr., and Daequan Cook to Columbus, earning him the title of Rivals.com Recruiter of the Year in 2006. His 2007 class at OSU, which featured a five-star prospect and two four-star recruits, was also ranked sixth in the nation.

if LSU were hiring a coach I'd want our list of calls, realistic or not, to include the following:

Chris Mack
Shaka Smart
Gregg Marshall
Tony Bennett

If they got to the point that they were desperate enough to win.

Google him and look at his pics. He may be one of the most animated coaches in the nation.

If Mack left Xavier, Groce would be one of the top candidates, if not the top candidate. You want winners associated with your program at all levels, and he is a winner. He learned a ton of stuff in his time under Matta. Matta was a Butler before Xavier and went to Ohio State afterwards. Groce was with him every step of the way.
