I've been to the following legendary stadiums. I list them in order of intimidating loudness for opposition.
Note, it is forecast to rain in Gainesville all day tomorrow which should quiet the fans quite a bit. I will be there with my girlfriend who is an FSU fan and daughter of a big Gator booster. I guess that is dysfunctional.
I have not been to Penn State or Athens or Stillwater or Norman.
Loudest to quietest
1. The Swamp
2. LSU (yes, I know, I have a degree from there)
3. ATM
4. Oregon
5. Utah
6. Seattle Seahawks (yes, it is pro, but the only pro worthy to be on this list)
7. Arkie
8. Arburn
9. Tennuhsee
10. No-tra Dame
Quietist big stadiums
1. Michigan. Perhaps the biggest disappointment for 100K. Pin drop? Yep. I heard it land.
2. Ohio State - Wow. What a bunch of arrogant jerks who sit on their hands and I do mean, they sit. No standing or you get yelled at. Really quiet. But, they all listen to the band at halftime.
