Most will, I'd assume. As was stated earlier, minds are made up. Right or wrong, mine is too. I think his actions since Florida has shown the character he truly has and the inconsistancy of his stories are enough to lead a reasonable person to believe that he at the very least knew what his dad was doing.

People already have formed firm opinions. If nothing happens, "AU got away with it." If something happens, "I told you so." There is no exoneration in the court of public Rant opinion.

I still don't think his current story necessarily contradicts the police report.

I also don't think his character is as putrid as people say on this board. And I'm a pretty good judge of character.

I do know that he absolutely had to know he was being shopped.

Beatbammer, you are the perfect example of the "head in the sand" AU fan everyone is making a joke about. You run around on loopholes and technicalities, twisting words and statements. You dont want to make or state an opinion on whether or not Cam knew because you know it would lessen your teams accomplishments. I've already agreed with WDE24 on the ruling but in terms of common man law you know Cam knew and cant bring yourself to publicaly give your opinion on it. Your hoping that if you remain in denial about the whole situation then eventually it will all go away and you can legitimately feel that your teams success is valid. I've got news for you. History will always refer to AU's 2010 season with a side note about the Newton controversy. As I posted earlier, can you guys ever do anything good and enjoy it or will you always have to defend your school on some contrversy? Oh that's right everyones out to get you.

If you truly believe he didnt know then you need to stay away from those car lots 'cause as nieve as you are your going to get raped.

Anyone ever notice how many Auburn fans have a BAMA reference in their usernames?

since when has the SEC Rant's collective opinion mattered?

Pretty sure Alabama still has an asterisk on their NC because McCoy got knocked out, per the expert analysis on this board.

He has said that he bought a stolen lap top. The police report stated he was heard saying "I saw a laptop, I took it." That's pretty contradictory to me.

As am I, but people still do things that surprise you. I've been burnt a couple times in the past by folks I thought were stand up folks.

As do most others, I believe, therein lies the rub. Especially with Bama fans. Again, right or wrong, it's just aggravating to see the NCAA break their bylaws in nailing Bama, but then someone that has a criminal history and changing stories is given the benefit of the doubt and a fast track investigation to keep him eligible to play.

I still think it is possible that he didn't know at the time the solicitation occurred, only because Cecil may have intentionally shielded him. However, I think he had to have learned some time in December before he committed to AU.

I think the boosters informing MSU of Cecil's solicitation is what prompted Cecil to stop soliciting and what led to Cam going to AU. Just a theory. Lots of other more nefarious explanations as well.

I can picture several real life scenarios where that isn't contradictory at all. If opinions are already formed and set in stone though, I suppose it doesn't matter at all.

Who hasn't? I'm just saying from what I've seen from the dude at Auburn, he's a stand up guy. And I really don't care what anyone thinks about that opinion.

Ross

Cecil & Cam's "character" is shady, period. IMO, neither should be believed for their word, they are not honest men. But, there are a lot of folks that have the same moral character as the Newton's. I would have a hard time defending them to the extent that some of you AU fans are defending them.

I would be interested in hearing one or two. I just can't seem to reconcile in my mind that, I bought a laptop and I saw a laptop, I took it....could be anything but 2 different stories.

So as long as someone hasent done anything wrong to you, their okay? I dont believe you really feel that way. You wouldnt hire a known thief to watch your money based on the fact that he's never stole any money from you. Your just looking the other way in this case because it helps you feel a little better about your teams year.

I do commend you Ross for at least taking a stance on whether or not Cam knew.

It's just common sense that he knew about being shopped. I don't think he was necessarily complicit, but to assume he had no idea with a father he regards as being so close too is very naive.

My personal opinion of Newton's character is pretty strongly entrenched with what I've seen from him these past two years.

And you shouldn't care one bit what fold think about your opinion regarding your own player.

IMO, I wouldn't want Cam "standing up" for my team.

Hell, we have players of our own that make me cringe when I see them on TV in a Bama uniform.

It has nothing to do with their moral character, but moreso with their personal appearance.

Then don't read my posts, sister.

Easy as that.

And when Mark Ingram gets arrested, has to transfer to a JC under a cloud, has multiple stories in the media about cheating and suspended licenses, skanky web cam videos, and talks about his mother's womb on the stage at the Downtown Athletic Club - THEN we can talk about that apple and that tree.

And, Cam has ugly, troll ears and a flappy camel toe.

Didn't want to forget to bash his outward appearance.

For a man it's called a moose knuckle, "sister".

And I'll take our QB and his good looks over Ginger any day (so would David Letterman)
