it's a good source. Just confirming all of the FBI talk, and the big break this week in the story. It will involve an arrest, not of a Newton, but with either Bond or Rogers or suspect to be named later.

Any info on Auburn or Cam Newton's involvement? I've heard rumors ranging from "Auburn called info in and cooperated with the FBI" to "the entire AD at Auburn will be blown up."

It all neatly coincides with what has been posted earlier in this thread. I spoke with this guy at the game last night, and now, I'm kind of putting the pieces together along with this information. I think the one thing I can add is that arrests are imminent. I definitely just do not think it is a Newton who will be in chains, more likely Rodgers or Bond for starters.

This Cam Newton thing really only scratches the surface for certain.

How widespread is the problem?

Now the question is, how bad will this affect the universities involved? Auburn sources claim we have nothing to worry about while Bama insiders think Auburn will get kicked out of the SEC. Also, it sounds like Miss State should be VERY worried. Supposedly, other universities are involved too.
Honestly, if the FBI can get Lowder for money laundering and off the Board of Trustees without any sanctions from the NCAA, they'd be doing us a big favor.

what I said, is what I said. I did not ask specifics. The person I spoke too isn't really a guy/girl you poke for information I guess you could say. What W&L says seems to be correct, he just says it in an Alabama Fan way.
I had not heard of this gambling thing until TONIGHT to make sure yall get me. I'm not trying to spread any rumors, just transmitting what I know. When talked to this person, I didn't know this stuff, so when I was told about an arrest, I immediately thought Bond and Rodgers. I was also told about the FBI being the ones participating with that arrest, as we all semi-knew. He also said the situation was expanding. I, yet again, did not know of this gambling/whatever that has come out, so I thought just of the football program. This person is well-connected to College Sports in general, so that's what I expected. However, it does fit what W&L said.
The Rodgers/Bond situation was likened to the Clemons/Mcnamee situation in discussing it with a few friends afterwards.

if this is the FBI arrest I've heard about, what a shocker it would be.

Every place has it's problems and i do pick fun at some of them, but it dose seem that Lowder is AU's biggest problem.
I really was enjoying the Cam show till all of this started. I work with people from all over and most have the same opinion----SEC is just a bunch of cheaters. This just gives more ammo.
Hopefully this will help curb the "selling" of young athletes.

Of course, it's entirely possible this is all just payback by Bama for the Gadsden rumors.
If so, man they are getting us good.

Also, Mark Wine, the AU grad who broke the story about Cecil admitting to talking about money, has made it pretty clear that his source claimed that Rogers initiated the talks about money. If so, that would REALLY fit with the source talking about an arrest this week. If I had to bet money, Rogers is screwed.

should be a fun week regardless

I think i know who you are talking about, and the gambling thing is known by this person.

I'm scared to go to sleep, I might miss something. I halfway expect to wake up , turn on ESPN and see people being led out of AU's AD in cuffs.

Initials???
I don't think the AD is going away in cuffs
